Dennis D. Berkey is a mathematician and college administrator who had served as the 15th president of Worcester Polytechnic Institute from 2004 [4] until May,2013. [5] At WPI he oversaw the development of a biotechnology center known as Gateway Park in Worcester,Massachusetts. He also oversaw an expansion in enrollment,a new residence hall (East Hall),a new admissions building (The Bartlett Center),and a new sports and recreation facility. [6]
Berkey received a B.A. degree in mathematics from Muskingum College in 1969 and a M.A. degree from Miami University in 1971. He earned a Ph.D. in mathematics from University of Cincinnati in 1974 while working under the supervision of Alan C. Lazar. [3]
After receiving his doctorate,Berkey became a faculty member at Boston University in 1974. From 1978 to 1983,he chaired the mathematics department,and he served as dean of the College of Arts and Sciences from 1987 to 2002. He was the provost at BU from 1987 to 1991 and from 1996 to 2004. [7]

Kaveh Pahlavan,is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Computer Science and the director of the Center for Wireless Information Network Studies (CWINS),Worcester Polytechnic Institute,Worcester,Massachusetts. Pahlavan is a researcher in Wi-Fi technology,wireless indoor geolocation,and Body Area Networking. He started doing research on Wi-Fi when it was in its infancy.
Winston Wole Soboyejo commonly known as "Wole" is an American Scientist of Yoruba Nigerian parentage. Neil T. Heffernan is a professor of computer science at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He is known for his role in the development of the ASSISTments online learning tool and app,which assists students with homework and classwork while helping teachers assess where to focus instructional time in mathematics,and is used by over 50,000 students a year in the US. His work gained prominence when a New York Times Magazine story by Annie Murphy Paul featured ASSISTments and Heffernan's research with the tool.

Laurie Leshin is an American scientist and academic administrator serving as the 10th Director of the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory and as Vice President and Bren Professor of Geochemistry and Planetary Science at California Institute of Technology. Leshin's research has focused on geochemistry and space science. Leshin previously served as the 16th president of Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Wilcox conducts research focused on minimizing the environmental and climate impacts of our dependence on fossil fuels. In January 2021,she became acting Assistant Secretary for Fossil Energy and Carbon Management and Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary (PDAS) for Fossil Energy and Carbon Management.
Arthur Brough Bronwell was an American professor of electrical engineering who served as president of Worcester Polytechnic Institute (1955–1962) and dean of the University of Connecticut School of Engineering (1962–1970). A building on UConn's campus was named in his honor.
