The Department of Home Affairs (Manx : Rheynn Cooishyn Sthie) ensures the safety, protection and security of the Isle of Man.

The Department is responsible for the Isle of Man Constabulary, the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service, the Prison and Probation Service, emergency planning and Civil Defence.

Department of Health (Isle of Man)

It was created on 1 April 2010, taking on the health services and public health functions of the former Department of Health and Social Security. On 1 August 2012 the Isle of Man's Mental Health Services were transferred from the Department of Social Care to the Department of Health, which also saw the creation of a post for a second Member for the Department with specific responsibility for Mental Health. On 2 December 2013 as part of the Council of Ministers' plans to modernize ministerial government it was announced that the Department of Health and the Department of Social Care would merge on 1 April, subject to the approval of Tynwald. The move was by and large a reversal of one element of the restructuring of the Isle of Man Government in April 2010 which saw the former Department of Health and Social Security split to form the Department of Health and the Department of Social Care.

Department of Social Care (Isle of Man)

The Department of Social Care was a department of the Isle of Man Government. It was created on 1 April 2010, taking on the social services and social security functions of the former Department of Health and Social Security as well as the social housing function of the former Department of Local Government and the Environment. On 2 December 2013 as part of the Council of Ministers' plans to modernize ministerial government it was announced that the Department of Health and the Department of Social Care would merge on 1 April, subject to the approval of Tynwald. Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture (Isle of Man)

The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture is one of nine departments of the Isle of Man Government. It was created on 1 April 2010, taking over the former Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry along with the environment functions from the former Department of Local Government and the Environment.

The Department of Health and Social Care is the largest of the seven departments of the Isle of Man Government. It was created on 1 April 2014 as a result of a merger of health and social care services from the former Department of Health and Department of Social Care. The intention to merge the two Departments was announced on 2 December 2013 as part of the Council of Ministers' plans to modernize ministerial government. The move was by and large a reversal of one element of the restructuring of the Isle of Man Government in April 2010 which saw the former Department of Health and Social Security split to form the Department of Health and the Department of Social Care.

Laurence David Skelly MLC is a Manx politician, who has served as President of Tynwald since July 2021.

Jane Pearl Poole-Wilson, MHK is a Manx politician and solicitor. She was elected to the Legislative Council of the Isle of Man in 2017 to fill a casual vacancy and was re-elected for a full five-year term in 2018. However she was elected to the House of Keys for the constituency of Middle in the 2021 Manx general election and thus forfeited her seat on the Legislative Council. She was immediately appointed by new Chief Minister Alfred Cannan as Minister for Justice and Home Affairs. She was also appointed as Deputy Chief Minister.
