The Second N. Chandrababu Naidu ministry of the state of Andhra Pradesh was formed on 11 October 1999 headed by N. Chandrababu Naidu as the Chief Minister following the 1999 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election. The cabinet was sworn in a simple ceremony held at Raj Bhavan, Hyderabad. Initially the chief minister and eight other ministers of his council of ministers were administered the oath of office and secrecy by the then Governor C. Rangarajan.

Mission Bhagiratha is a safe drinking water project for every village in Telangana State, with a budget of ₹43,791 crores. The project aims to provide piped water to 2.32 crore people in 20 lakh households in urban and 60 lakhs in rural areas of Telangana. The project will supply clean drinking water to all households in the state through water sourced from the River Godavari and the River Krishna (32.43TMC). The bulk supply is expected to be completed by May 2018, and intra-village, intra-locality works will be completed by December 2018.

She won the 2009 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election and Telangana Legislative Assembly elections in 2018 and 2023. She was appointed general secretary of All India Mahila Congress in June 2018 and in August 2019 became state in-charge of Chhattisgarh Mahila Congress. She is sometimes referred to as 'Iron Lady of Telangana'.
