The governor of Telangana is the nominal head of the Indian state of Telangana. Appointed by the president of India, the governor holds office at the president's pleasure. The governor is the de jure head of the state government; all its executive actions are taken in the governor's name. However, the governor must act on the advice of the popularly elected government of Telangana, headed by the chief minister of Telangana, who thus serve as the de facto executive authority of the state. The Constitution of India also empowers the governor to act upon their own discretion, such as the ability to appoint or dismiss a ministry, recommend President's rule, or reserve bills for the president's assent. The governor of Telangana resides at their official residence at the Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad.
Telangana was bifurcated as an independent state on 2 June 2014. The then governor of united Andhra Pradesh, E. S. L. Narasimhan was appointed as the first governor of the new state and continued to serve as the governor for the dual states until 2019 when Biswabhusan Harichandan was appointed as the governor of Andhra Pradesh. Narasimhan was replaced as the governor of Telangana months later in September 2019 by Tamilisai Soundararajan. Soundararajan also became the first female to hold the office of the state governor. She remained in office until her resignation in March 2024. Following her resignation, the Governor of Jharkhand C. P. Radhakrishnan was appointed to hold the additional charge of the Governor of Telangana.

Apart from enjoying various constitutional powers, the governor of Telangana is the ex-officio Chancellor of the state universities of Telangana. The universities include Osmania University, Kakatiya University, Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Mahatma Gandhi University, Palamuru University, Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University, Satavahana University, Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University, Telangana University, and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University.

In India, a governor is the constitutional head of a state in India that has similar powers and functions at the state level as those of the president of India at the central level. A governor acts as the constitutional head and takes all their decisions based on the advice of chief minister and their council of ministers.
The Government of Himachal Pradesh also known as the State Government of Himachal Pradesh, or locally as State Government, is the supreme governing authority of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Ekkadu Srinivasan Lakshmi Narasimhan is an Indian former civil servant and politician who served as the first Governor of Telangana. He assumed office of the Governor of Andhra Pradesh on 8 December 2009 until 23 July 2019 making him the longest-serving governor of the state. Later he took on 2 June 2014 as the 1st Governor of Telangana as additional charge. A retired Indian Police Service officer, he previously served as the Director of the Intelligence Bureau from February 2005 to December 2006. Tamilisai Soundararajan is an Indian politician belongs to Bharatiya Janata Party. She served as the second Governor of Telangana, and also served as Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry from 18 February 2021 to 18 March 2024. She was the National Secretary and Tamil Nadu State Unit President of the BJP prior to this appointment.
Located in Lucknow, the Vidhan Bhavan is the seat of the bicameral legislature of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The lower house is the Vidhan Sabha and the upper house the Vidhan Parishad. The Vidhan Sabha had 431 members until 1967, but now comprises 403 directly elected members and one nominated member from the Anglo-Indian community. The Vidhan Parishad has 100 members.
