This is a list of governors of Himachal Pradesh. Sh. Shiv Pratap Shukla is the 22nd governor (31st if governors with additional charge also counted) of Himachal Pradesh since February 2023. Out of the regular 21 governors (except the present one) of the state only three have been able to complete their full terms: S. Chakravarti (1971–77), Vishnu Sadashiv Kokje (2003–08) and Urmila Singh (2010–15).

Virbhadra Singh was an Indian politician who served 6 terms and 21 years as the 4th Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh. A leader of the Indian National Congress party, he was elected 9 times as a Member of Legislative Assembly to the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha and 5 times as Member of Parliament to the Lok Sabha. Virbhadra Singh was popularly known by the honorific Raja Sahib. Singh holds the distinction of being the longest serving Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, holding the office from 1983 to 1990, from 1993 to 1998, from 2003 to 2007 and finally from 2012 to 2017, when he was succeeded by the BJP's Jai Ram Thakur. He was elected to the Lok Sabha in 1962, 1967, 1971, 1980 and 2009. Singh served as a Union Minister in the governments of Indira Gandhi and Manmohan Singh. At the time of his demise, he was serving as an MLA from Arki constituency.

Om Prakash Verma was an Indian administrator. He was the Governor of Punjab (2003–04), Governor of Haryana, Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court and the chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Human Rights Commission. He was born in Garhmukteshwar District, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. He was also the Lokayukta of Himachal Pradesh before taking over the Governorship of Punjab.

Prabha Rau was an Indian politician and the Governor of Rajasthan state of India when she died. She was appointed Governor of Rajasthan after she was transferred from Governor of Himachal Pradesh after Urmila Singh took charge on 25 Jan 2010 at Shimla. Initially following the death of previous governor of Rajasthan S.K. Singh, she got additional charge as Governor of Rajasthan along with charge of Governor of Himachal Pradesh. She was the governor of Himachal Pradesh since 19 July 2008. She was the former president of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee. She hailed from Wardha. She has a brother named Arun Wasu.

V. S. Ramadevi was an Indian politician who was the first lady to become the 13th Governor of Karnataka and 9th Chief Election Commissioner of India from 26 November 1990 to 11 December 1990. She was the first woman to become Chief Election Commissioner of India. She was succeeded by T. N. Seshan. Ramadevi was the first woman to serve as Secretary General of the Rajya Sabha, from 1 July 1993 to 25 September 1997. And also she was the first and to date only female Governor of Karnataka, from 2 December 1999 to 20 August 2002.
