This is a list of the governors of Tripura, a state in northeast India, since its inception as a state on 21 January 1972. [1]

Tripura is a state in northeastern India. The third-smallest state in the country, it covers 10,491 km2 (4,051 sq mi); and the seventh-least populous state with a population of 3.67 million. In India, a chief minister is the elected head of government of each state out of the 28 states and sometimes a union territory (UT). Radha Krishna Mathur is a retired Indian IAS officer and Indian bureaucrat, who served as the 1st Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh from 2019 to 2023. He retired as the Chief Information Commissioner of India (CIC) in November 2018. Mathur had retired as the India's Defence Secretary, two years after being appointed to the post on 25 May 2013. He was also the Defence Production Secretary of India, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Secretary of India and the Chief Secretary of Tripura.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Jishnu Dev Varma</span> Indian politician

Jishnu Dev Varma, is an Indian politician serving as the 3rd and current Governor of Telangana since 31 July 2024. He is from Tripura, and has previously served as the 2nd Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura from 2018 to 2023. He served as the MLA of Charilam from 2018 till 2023. He was the head of the Badminton Association of India, and is currently the president of its Tripura unit.
