The Descente Classic was a professional golf tournament on the Japan Golf Tour. Founded in 1992 by sponsors Descente, it was renamed the Descente Classic Munsingwear Cup in 1995 and played until 1999, after which it was merged with the KSB Open to create the Munsingwear Open KSB Cup.

The Japan Golf Tour is a prominent golf tour. It was founded in 1973 and as of 2006 it offers the third-highest annual prize fund out of the regular men's professional tours after the PGA Tour and the European Tour. However, since the early 1990s, the growth in prize money has not kept pace with that on the two larger tours. Official events on the Japan Golf Tour count for World Golf Ranking points, and success on the tour can also qualify members to play in the majors.

The Descente Korea Munsingwear Matchplay is an annual professional golf tournament hosted in South Korea and sponsored by the clothing company Munsingwear. The tournament has been held since 2010 and is part of the Korean Tour for men. Prize money was ₩400,000,000 in 2010 and 2011, ₩600,000,000 in 2012 and 2013, ₩800,000,000 from 2014 to 2016 and ₩1,000,000,000 in 2017 to 2019. The event was not held in 2020 but returned in 2021 with reduced prize money of ₩800,000,000.
