As captain, Jayawardene led his national team to be the winners of the 2008 Asia Cup. Jayawardene made history as he was the first Sri Lankan in the history of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup to score a century which he did with his 100 runs against Zimbabwe in the 2010 tournament.
Charith Panduka Senanayake is a former Sri Lankan cricketer and businessman. He played in three Test matches and seven One Day Internationals from 1990 to 1991. He also served as manager of Sri Lanka national cricket team for a considerable period of time. He also played professional cricket in Kenya representing Mombasa Sports Club. Nishad Tharanga Paranavitana is a former Sri Lankan Test cricketer. He is an opening batsman and an off-break bowler. He retired from all forms of cricket in August 2020.
Ranasinghe Arachchige Suranga Lakmal is a former professional Sri Lankan cricketer, who played in all formats of the game and is a former Test cricket captain. He is a right-arm fast bowler and right-handed batsman. He started his cricket life in Debarawewa National School, Tissamaharama. He was first included in the national squad for the tour of Pakistan in 2008-2009 and was reported to have been injured in the attack on the Sri Lankan team by terrorists.
Angelo Kanishka Perera, or Angelo Perera, is a former professional cricketer, who played limited over cricket for Sri Lanka. He is a right-handed batsman and left-arm slow bowler who plays for Nondescripts Cricket Club. He was born in Moratuwa and attended to St Peter's College, Colombo. In 2019, he became only the second batsman after Arthur Fagg to score double centuries in both innings of any first class match. Perera retired from international cricket in January 2022, having last playing for the national team in 2019.
Pramod Bhanuka Bandara Rajapaksa,, popularly known as Bhanuka Rajapaksa, is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer, who plays limited over internationals for the national team. He is a left-handed batsman who bowls right-arm medium. He was born in Colombo. Despite a prolific domestic career, Rajapaksa only made his international debut when he was called up for the T20I series against Pakistan in 2019, ten years after his first-class debut.
Pinnaduwage Chaturanga de Silva, or Chaturanga de Silva, is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer who plays limited over cricket. Chathuranga de Silva was educated at St. Aloysius College, Galle, where he started his cricket career. He is primarily a left-handed batsman but bowls handy slow left-arm orthodox. He has represented the Sri Lanka national cricket team in limited over international matches. He is the elder brother of Sri Lankan All-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva.
Kariyawasam Indipalage Charith Asalanka is a Sri Lankan professional cricketer who plays all three formats of the game for the national team and also serves as the vice-captain of the national team in T20I. A left-handed batsman, Asalanka made his international debut for Sri Lanka in June 2021

Pinnaduwage Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva, better known as Wanindu Hasaranga, is a Sri Lankan international cricketer who plays for the Sri Lanka cricket team in white ball cricket as a bowling All rounder. He is a Right-arm leg spinner. Hasaranga made his international debut for Sri Lanka in July 2017. His elder brother, Chaturanga de Silva, has also represented the national team. Hasaranga made history when he took the first ever hat-trick for Sri Lanka in a T20 World Cup during the 2021 edition of the tournament, and being the first Sri Lankan on an ODI debut to take a hat-trick.
Pasqual Handi Kamindu Dilanka Mendis, popularly as Kamindu Mendis, is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer who plays for the national team, and for Colombo Cricket Club in domestic cricket. He is an ambidextrous bowler and has bowled both right and left-arm deliveries during the same over. He made his international debut for the Sri Lanka cricket team in October 2018.
Downdegedara Asela Sampath Gunaratne, commonly known as Asela Gunaratne is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer, who played all forms of the game for Sri Lanka. Neketh Gedara Roshan Prabath Jayasuriya, commonly known as Prabath Jayasuriya, is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer who plays for the national team. In domestic matches, he plays for Colts Cricket Club and Jaffna Stallions.
Morawakage Maheesh Theekshana is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer who plays for the national team in all three formats of the game. He made his international debut for Sri Lanka in September 2021. His bowling action resembles similar to that of former Sri Lankan mystery spinner Ajantha Mendis who coincidentally happens to be his mentor with Sri Lanka Army cricket team. He is attached with Sri Lanka Army and plays club cricket for Sri Lanka Army Sports Club.
The 2004 SLC Twenty20 Tournament is the 1st season of the official Twenty20 domestic cricket competition in Sri Lanka. 15 teams in total, five representing four provinces of Sri Lanka and a Sri Lanka Schools XI team participating in the competition. The competition began on 17 August 2004, when Bloomfield Cricket and Athletic Club played the Police Sports Club at Colts Cricket Club Ground, Colombo.
The 2021 Lanka Premier League also known as Wolf777 News LPL T20, for sponsorship reasons, was the second edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) Twenty20 franchise cricket tournament in Sri Lanka. It took place from 5 to 23 December 2021. There were plans to increase the number of teams from five to six, but Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) confirmed that five teams would take part, as per the first tournament.
