Dipika Rukshana Chanmugam-Appleton (born 9 March 1972) is a Sri Lankan former swimmer. She competed in three events at the 1988 Summer Olympics. [1] She was the first woman to represent Sri Lanka at the Olympics. [2]

Manjula Kumara Pathiranage Wijesekara is a Sri Lankan high jumper. He has been regarded as one of the most experienced high jumpers to have represented the country mainly in the Asian Games and Commonwealth Games after making his senior debut in 2001. Sri Lanka participated at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, which was held from 27 July to 12 August 2012. The country's participation at London marked its sixteenth appearance in the Summer Olympics since its debut at the 1948 Summer Olympics, having missed only the 1976 Games. The delegation consisted of seven competitors: two athletics competitors, two badminton players one shooter and two short-distance swimmers. Cooray, Samarakoon and Karunaratne qualified for the Games by meeting their respective qualifying standards; the remainder of the team entered through wildcard or quota places. Karunarante was the flag bearer for the opening and closing ceremonies.

Thilini Sudhara Jayasinghe is a Sri Lankan badminton player. Born in Peradeniya, Jayasinghe started playing badminton aged 9, and has joined the national team in 2000. She attended Mahamaya College and was named Best Sports Woman in 2004. In 2006 and 2010, she competed at the Asian and Commonwealth Games. Jayasinghe also competed for Sri Lanka at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics in the women's singles event. She is the first woman badminton player to have ever represented Sri Lanka at the Olympic Games.

Reshika Amali Udugampola is a former Sri Lankan freestyle swimmer and sports administrator. She is also the current secretary of the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka's Athletes' Commission and also serves in the marketing sub-committee of the International Olympic Committee.

Nadeeka Lakmali Bambarenda Liyanage is a Sri Lankan javelin thrower. She is regarded one of the finest javelin throwers in Sri Lanka with global fame. She is also attached with the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and current national record holder in women's javelin throw event.

Theekshana Ratnasekera is a Sri Lankan former swimmer, who specialized in sprint freestyle events. She represented Sri Lanka, as an 18-year-old teen, at the 2000 Summer Olympics, and also held numerous age group and meet records in a sprint freestyle. Ratnasekera lost the race in the pre-Olympic selection to Radiesha Daluwatte, the teenage daughter of former Sri Lankan army commander Rohan Daluwatte, and the General filed a petition in the Court of Appeals to challenge the sports officials' decision to send Ratnasekera to the Olympics.

Pushpamali Ramanayake is a Sri Lankan sport shooter. She has competed for Sri Lanka in rifle shooting at three Olympics, and has won a gold medal with fellow shooter Malini Wickramasinghe in the air rifle pairs at the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

Deshabandu Julian Bolling is a Sri Lankan medal-winning swimmer who represented his country at numerous international competitions. He is fondly remembered as the poster boy of Sri Lankan swimming in the 1980s. He won 15 gold medals for Sri Lanka at the South Asian Games between 1984 and 1991. He also represented Sri Lanka at three Olympic Games, firstly at Los Angeles (USA) in 1984, then at Seoul in 1988, and finally at Barcelona (Spain) in 1992. Shamani Pradeepa Kumari Kiwuldeniye Herath Mudiyanselage is a Sri Lankan former sprinter. She competed in the women's 4 × 100 metres relay at the 2000 Summer Olympics.

S. Nimmi de Zoysa Oly is a Sri Lankan former sprinter. She competed in the women's 4 × 100 metres relay at the 2000 Summer Olympics. She's also a gold medalist in the women's 4 × 100 metres relay at the 2000 Asian Championships in Jakarta.
