Jharkhand is a state in eastern India. The state shares its border with the states of West Bengal to the east,Chhattisgarh to the west,Uttar Pradesh to the northwest,Bihar to the north and Odisha to the south. It is the 15th largest state by area,and the 14th largest by population. Hindi is the official language of the state. The city of Ranchi is its capital and Dumka its sub-capital. The state is known for its waterfalls,hills and holy places;Baidyanath Dham,Parasnath,Dewri and Rajrappa are major religious sites. Jharkhand is primarily rural,with about 24% of its population living in cities.

Deepika Kumari is an Indian professional archer. She won a gold medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in the women's individual recurve event. She also won a gold there in the women's team recurve event with Dola Banerjee and Bombayala Devi. She won individual gold in two of the three stages of the World Cup—one in Guatemala and another in Paris. In the process she also reclaimed the number one ranking after nine years at the Paris World Cup. Deepika won individual gold medals at the Archery World Cup Stage 1. She defeated Mexico by 5–1 in the final to win the gold in Paris.

Medininagar,formerly Daltonganj,is a city municipal corporation in the Indian state of Jharkhand. It is the headquarters of Palamu division and Palamu district,as well as the subdivision and block of the same name. The city is situated on the banks of the North Koel River.
Ravindra Kumar Ray is an Indian politician and member of parliament from Koderma constituency,Jharkhand. He won in the Indian general election in 2014 as a Bharatiya Janata Party candidate. He was the Mines and Mineral minister of Jharkhand during Babu Lal Marandi’s government and later became the Cabinet minister of Industry and Labour during the Arjun Munda government. Ravindra Ray played an important role in the formation of Jharkhand and was the first person to propose the idea of having a CM of the MLA’s choice in the state.
Nikki Pradhan is an Indian field hockey player and a member of the Indian national team. Pradhan was the first female Hockey player from Jharkhand who represented India in the Olympics. Pradhan was included in a 16-member squad for Rio Olympics,which also marked the return of Indian women's hockey to the Olympics after 36 years after a stellar show at the Hockey World League Semifinals in 2015. Pradhan was the midfielder of the Indian Women's Hockey team. Her selection to the team made her the sixth hockey player from Jharkhand to play in Olympics,bracketing her with Jaipal Singh Munda (1928),Michael Kido (1972),Sylvanus Dungdung (1980),Ajeet Lakra (1992) and Manohar Topno (1984).
Raj Kishor Singh is an Indian politician who served as a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly for the state Samajwadi Party from 2002 to 2017. He was a minister for Panchayati raj. Before the government of Mulayam Singh,Mr Singh was also a cabinet minister.
Rajkumar Udaybhan Narain Singh is an Indian politician who was the Independent Director of JIADA in the Government of Jharkhand and was one of the leaders of the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha but later joined Bhartiya Janta Party in 2013. Being close to Rajnath Singh,gained popularity in the party also. Belongs to the erstwhile royal family of Ramgarh Raj and has a strong hold over the North Chotanagpur belt. Singh is grandson of Maharaj Kumar Dr. Basant Narain Singh who served as 4 times MP from Hazaribagh aur also 2 times MLA from Hazaribagh.
BJP Mahila Morcha,or simply Mahila Morcha,is the women's wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of India. Vanathi Srinivasan,former Tamil Nadu BJP Unit Vice president and current Member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from Coimbatore South state assembly constituency is the national president of the wing.
The Barkagarh estate was a zamindari estate situated in modern-day Jharkhand,India,in erstwhile Lohardaga district. It was established by Ani Nath Shahdeo,the son of Nagvanshi king Ram Shah in 17th century. The capital of the estate was Satranji now located in south Ranchi.
Om Prakash Lal,popularly known as O.P Lal,was an Indian politician who served as a Cabinet Minister,Minister of State (MoS) with Independent Charges and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) in Vidhan Sabha of Government of Bihar. He represented the Baghmara constituency of Jharkhand,then part of undivided Bihar,for three consecutive terms from 1985 to 2000. Lal made significant contributions to the fields of Excise &Probation,Mines &Geology,Tourism,and Information Technology during his political career.
