Disclosure is an upcoming American science fiction film directed by Steven Spielberg from a screenplay by David Koepp based on a story by Spielberg. The film stars Emily Blunt, Josh O'Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, Colman Domingo and Wyatt Russell.

Disclosure is scheduled to be released in the United States by Universal Pictures on June 12, 2026. It is believed to be set in the same universe as Spielberg's previous film Close Encounters of the Third Kind .

Production

In April 2024, it was announced that Steven Spielberg's next directing project would be a UFO film based on his own original idea, with David Koepp writing the screenplay. [1] In May, Universal Pictures was set to distribute. [2] In June, Emily Blunt was in talks to join the film in the lead role. [3] In August, Colin Firth was in early talks to join the film, while Blunt was confirmed to star. [4] The next month, Eve Hewson was in talks to join the film. [5] The next month, Colman Domingo joined the cast, with Firth and Hewson also confirmed to join. [6] In December, Wyatt Russell was in talks to join the film, and Josh O'Connor was confirmed as having been cast. [7] In July 2024, it was reported that the film was given the title The Dish, but it later was changed to Disclosure by the time filming began. [8] [9]

Filming

Principal photography began on February 26, 2025 and will last through the summer, in New Jersey, Atlanta, New York City and Huntington under the title Non-View. [10] A casting call for Long Island, New York-based background actors to play "wrestling fans" for a scene to be shot on March 4, 2025 was issued on January 16, 2025. [11] [12] [13]

Release

Disclosure is scheduled to be released in the United States on June 12, 2026. [14] It was originally set for release on May 15, 2026. [2]
