Dominic Francis Kevin Delaney is a former member of the House of Keys and the Legislative Council of the Isle of Man, where he sat as a member of the Alliance for Progressive Government. [1] He was once called "one of the Island's most outspoken politicians". [1]
Delaney was born in Douglas in 1943 [2] and attended St Mary's School. He is a retired member of the Parachute Regiment, [3] has been employed as a PR consultant and has been a company director. He married Julia in 1969 and they have one daughter together and two sons and one daughter from Julia's previous marriage; Julia was MHK for Douglas North from 1986 to 1991. [2] [4]
He became a member of the Douglas Town Council in 1972 and remained in that post until he stood for the Keys in 1976 in Douglas East. He remained a member of the Keys (MHK) until his elevation to the Legislative Council in 1995. [1] He raised concerns about immigration and the settlement of asylum seekers in the Isle of Man in 2002. [5]
In 2005 he sought re-election to the council for a third term, [6] but after three rounds of unsuccessful voting [7] the House of Keys elevated Hon Alex Downie instead. Delaney then fought the ensuing by-election in Douglas West and became a MHK again. He became the Member for Social Security in August 2005. [8] He is also a former Minister in Sir Miles Walker's Council.
Delaney stood down from the House of Keys in October 2006 due to ill health. [9]

Sir Henry Charles Kerruish OBE LLD CP MLC was a Manx politician who was the first President of Tynwald and, as Speaker of the House of Keys from 1962 to 1990, was the longest-serving Speaker in any Parliament in the Commonwealth. He was also the first Chairman of the Executive Council, the forerunner of the present Chief Minister of the Isle of Man, from 1961 to 1967. This made him the first Manx person to fulfil an executive role on the Isle of Man. Previously the Lieutenant Governor had exercised all executive power. He was a keen supporter of Scouting on the Isle of Man, often offering his own lands for camping.
Stephen Charles Rodan MLC is a Manx politician who served as the President of Tynwald from 2016 to 2021 and is a former Minister of the Isle of Man Government and former MHK for the constituency of Garff. He was first elected to the seat in a by-election in 1995.
John Ramsey Houghton MHK is a former Isle of Man politician who served as Member of the House of Keys for Douglas North until losing his seat in the 2016 Manx General Election. He has two daughters.

Robert "Bill" William Henderson MLC RMN is a Manx legislator who, after winning a 1998 by-election, represented the constituency of Douglas North in the House of Keys, the directly elected lower branch of Tynwald, the Isle of Man's parliament. In 2010, he was elected to the upper house, the Legislative Council; he was re-elected in 2015 and again in 2020.

Betty Hanson was a Manx politician and teacher. Hanson served as a Member of the House of Keys (MHK), the lower house of the Tynwald from 1974 until 1982 for the Douglas West constituency. She was elected to the Legislative Council of the Isle of Man, the upper house of the Tynwald, in 1982, becoming the first woman ever elected to that particular legislature. She remained a member of the Legislative Council (MLC) until 1988.

A general election was held in the Isle of Man on 23 September 2021. A record ten women were elected, twice as many as the five elected at the previous election. For the first time, in two constituencies, both elected MHKs were women. Four government ministers failed to be re-elected.
