Hideo Kojima is a Japanese video game designer. Regarded as one of the first auteurs of video games, he developed a strong passion for film and literature during his childhood and adolescence, which in turn has had a significant influence on his games. In 1986, Kojima joined Konami, for which he directed, designed and wrote Metal Gear (1987) for the MSX2, the game that laid the foundations for the stealth genre and the Metal Gear franchise, his best known and most acclaimed work. At Konami, he also produced the Zone of the Enders series, as well as designing and writing Snatcher (1988) and Policenauts (1994), graphic adventure games regarded for their cinematic presentation.

Once in a Long, Long While... is the third album by Icelandic band Low Roar, released on April 14, 2017. Based on the collection of essays titled The Gifted Gene and My Lovable Memes which was published in Japan in 2019, the book focuses on Kojima's inspirations on his work from various pop culture media, such as books, movies and music. Exploring themes such as isolationism, loneliness, grief and death, The Creative Gene collocates personal anecdotes of Kojima's life involving his inspirations with his sentiments towards the multitude of works that inspired him. The Creative Gene received positive reviews from critics, with praise given towards Kojima's exploration of his inspirations and their influence on his life.
House in the Woods is the upcoming sixth and final studio album by the musical project Low Roar, releasing February 7, 2025, through Tonequake Records. It features vocals from Ryan Karazija, who died in October of 2022 but had recorded all of his parts for the album prior to his death, making it the group's only posthumous album. The songs "Field of Dreams" and "Just How It Goes" were released as singles.
OD is an upcoming horror game developed by Kojima Productions and published by Xbox Game Studios. It stars Sophia Lillis, Hunter Schafer and Udo Kier. Hideo Kojima and Jordan Peele served as writers of the game.
maybe tomorrow... is the fifth studio album by the musical project Low Roar, released July 30, 2021 through Tonequake Records. A reviewer from Sputnikmusic stated the band "fashioned their own cyclical universe" through the album's storytelling and described the music as "so pure, moving, and intricate that you can't afford to continue ignoring it."
