"Don't Stop" is a song by Taiwanese singer Jolin Tsai, featured on her second studio album Don't Stop (2000). It is a Mandarin adaptation of S Club 7's "Bring It All Back", originally written by Rachel Stevens, Hannah Spearritt, Bradley McIntosh, Jon Lee, Paul Cattermole, Jo O'Meara, Tina Barrett, Eliot Kennedy, Mike Percy, and Tim Lever. The Chinese lyrics were written by Mao Mao, and the track was produced by Paul Lee. It was released as the album's single in April 2000 by Universal. [1]
During Christmas 1999, Tsai traveled to Quad Studios in New York City to record "Don't Stop". [2] On April 26, 2000, she released her second studio album Don't Stop , [3] accompanied by the release of the title track as a single. [1] The accompanying music video was directed by Tony Lin.
The lyrics of "Don't Stop" portray the younger generation's fearless pursuit of dreams and love. The track was recorded at Quad Studios in New York, with backing vocals performed by four African-American singers who had also contributed to Tsai's debut album 1019 (1999). [4]
The song ranked at number 14 on Hit FM's Top 100 Singles of 2000 in Taiwan. [5]
"Don't Stop" won the award for Most Popular Song at the 7th China Music Awards, [6] and the award for Best Dance Song (Hong Kong/Taiwan) at the inaugural Top Chinese Music Awards. [7]
