MartiniPlaza is an indoor arena located in Groningen, Netherlands. It is used as an exhibition complex, theater and sports arena. The arena is the home of the basketball team Donar and has a capacity of 4,350 people.
Donar, also known as Donar Groningen, is a professional basketball club based in Groningen, Netherlands. The club competes in the BNXT League and its home arena is MartiniPlaza, which has a seating capacity of 4,350 people.
Drago Pašalić is a Croatian former professional basketball player. He is the current technical director of Donar. Standing at 2.08 m, he played both power forward and center positions. In the beginning of his career he played for the Croatian national team. He is a one-time Croatian League and two-time Dutch League champion.
The Basketball Cup, formerly the NBB Cup, is an annual cup competition for Dutch basketball teams organised by the Basketball Nederland. Every team in the Netherlands can participate by signing up for the preliminary rounds. Professional basketball teams from the Dutch Basketball League (DBL) enter the tournament in the fourth round. Olaf Schaftenaar is a Dutch professional basketball player for Donar of the BNXT League. He played collegiately with Oregon State before returning to the Netherlands to play professionally for Landstede Hammers. Schaftenaar also plays for the Netherlands national team.
