Donny Budiarto Utomo OLY (born March 13, 1979) is an Indonesian swimmer, who specialized in butterfly events. [1] He is a former multiple-time national record holder for the men's butterfly, and a six-time medalist at the Southeast Asian Games. He is also a two-time defending champion for the 200 m butterfly, before losing out to Malaysia's Daniel Bego at the 2007 Southeast Asian Games in Bangkok, Thailand. [2]

Utomo made his first Indonesian team at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, where he competed in the men's 200 m butterfly. Swimming in heat one, he edged out Honduras' Roy Barahona to take a second spot and thirty-third overall by 0.28 of a second in 2:05.71. [3] [4]

At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, Utomo qualified again for the 200 m butterfly. After winning a silver medal from SEA Games in Bangkok, Thailand, his entry time of 2:00.81 was officially accredited under a FINA B-standard. [5] [6] He challenged seven other swimmers in heat two, including his former rival James Walsh of the Philippines, and four-time Olympian Vladan Marković of the newly independent nation Serbia. He rounded out the field to last place by 0.32 of a second behind Markovic with a slowest time of 2:03.44. Utomo failed to advance into the semifinals, as he placed forty-fourth overall in the preliminaries. [7] [8]

Daniel William Henry "Danny" Wong Bego, OLY is a Malaysian swimmer, who specialises in freestyle and butterfly events. He emerged as one of Malaysia's most promising and outstanding swimmers, winning a total of fifteen medals at the Southeast Asian Games, and breaking six national records. He was the first Malaysian swimmer to compete in three different events at a single Olympic Games.

Yang Chin-kuei is a Taiwanese swimmer, who specialized in butterfly and freestyle events. She represented the Chinese Taipei national team in two editions of the Olympic Games.

Serhiy Mykolaiovych Advena is a Ukrainian former swimmer who specializes in the freestyle and butterfly swimming styles. He is a two-time Olympian, and a multiple-time Ukrainian record holder in both 100 and 200 m butterfly. Iurii Zakharov is a Kyrgyzstani former swimmer, who specialized in backstroke and individual medley events. He represented his Kyrgyzstan in two editions of the Olympic Games.

Michal Rubáček is a Czech swimmer, who specialized in butterfly events. He is a two-time Olympian, and a multiple-time Czech national record holder for the butterfly events.

Yoo Jung-nam is a South Korean swimmer, who specialized in butterfly events. He represented his nation South Korea at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and has won a career total of four medals in a major international competition, spanning the 2002 Asian Games and the 2005 East Asian Games. Yoo is also a member of the swimming team and a graduate of physical education at Seoul National University.

Jeong Doo-hee is a South Korean former swimmer, who specialized in butterfly events. He represented his nation South Korea at the 2004 Summer Olympics, and shared silver medals with Park Seon-kwan, Choi Kyu-woong, and Park Tae-hwan in the 4×100 m medley relay at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China.

Paulius Andrijauskas is a Lithuanian swimmer, who specialized in butterfly events. He currently holds two Lithuanian records in the 200 m butterfly (2:01.98), and 4×200 m freestyle relay (7:25.37) from the 2007 FINA World Championships in Melbourne, Australia.

Zoran Lazarovski is a Macedonian former swimmer, who specialized in butterfly events. He is a two-time Olympian, and a former Macedonian record holder in the 200 m butterfly.

Aghiles Slimani is an Algerian former swimmer, who specialized in butterfly events. Slimani qualified for two swimming events at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, by posting FINA B-standard entry times of 55.40 and 2:03.18 from the World Championships in Barcelona, Spain. In the 200 m butterfly, Slimani challenged seven other swimmers in heat two, including Olympic veteran Vladan Marković of Serbia. He raced to sixth place and thirty-first overall by 0.16 of a second behind Markovic in 2:04.93. In his second event, 100 m butterfly, Slimani placed forty-eighth on the morning's preliminaries. Swimming in heat three, he edged out Turkey's Onur Uras to take a seventh seed by fifteen hundredths of a second (0.15) in 56.22.

Andy Wibowo is an Indonesian former swimmer, who specialized in butterfly events. He won a bronze medal in the 100 m butterfly (55.59) at the 2007 Southeast Asian Games in Bangkok, Thailand.

He challenged six other swimmers in heat one, including 15-year-old Sergey Pankov of Uzbekistan. He set a lifetime best of 2:05.99 to pull off a third-place finish by 0.28 of a second behind Indonesia's Donny Utomo. Barahona failed to advance into the semifinals, as he placed thirty-fourth overall in the preliminaries.

Albert Christiadi Sutanto is an Indonesian former swimmer, who specialized in butterfly and medley events. He is a two-time Olympian, and multi medalist 9 Gold 5 Silver and 16 Bronze at the Southeast Asian Games.
