Donta Scott (born December 4, 2000) is an American professional basketball player for the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for the Maryland Terrapins.
Scott attended Imhotep Institute Charter High School in Philadelphia. He played multiple positions and moved to point guard after the departure of Fatts Russell. [1] Scott helped his team win three straight Philadelphia Public League and Class 4A state titles. [2] He was a two-time Class 4A Player of the Year. [3] He committed to playing college basketball for Maryland over offers from La Salle, Temple, Seton Hall and South Carolina. [4]
Scott entered Maryland's starting lineup by mid-December of his freshman season. [5] As a freshman, he averaged 5.9 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. [6] During his sophomore season, Scott emerged as one of his team's best players, improving his shooting ability. [7] He averaged 11 points and 5.9 rebounds per game, shooting 48.8 percent from the field. [8] As a junior, Scott averaged 12.6 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. [9] He averaged 11.3 points and 6 rebounds as a senior. Scott returned for his fifth season of eligibility. [10]
After going undrafted in the 2024 NBA draft, Scott joined the Golden State Warriors for the 2024 NBA Summer League, [11] and on September 17, 2024, he signed with the team. [12] However, he was waived four days later [13] and on October 28, he joined the Santa Cruz Warriors. [14]

The Maryland Terrapins men's basketball team represents the University of Maryland in National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I competition. Maryland, a founding member of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), left the ACC in 2014 to join the Big Ten Conference. Gary Williams, who coached the Terrapins from 1989 to 2011, led the program to its greatest success, including two consecutive Final Fours in 2001 and 2002, which culminated in the 2002 NCAA National Championship. Maryland has appeared in 30 NCAA tournaments and won their conference tournament 4 times. The Terrapins have competed in 100 seasons, accumulating an overall record of 1,641–1,086 as of the 2022–23 season. Maryland is currently coached by Kevin Willard.
