Dorcus Genus of beetles

Dorcus is a genus of beetles in the family Lucanidae. Of the 30-odd species, most occur in Asia and India; two are found in southern Europe, and two species are from North America. Dorcus miwai Species of beetle

Dorcus miwai is a species of stag beetle that is endemic to Taiwan. They are small in size, but may be aggressive when provoked; however, they are not as aggressive as the Dorcus Titanus beetles. They can live 1-2 years in captivity with proper care. Dorcus miwai beetles are usually easy to care for in captivity. Their diet mainly consists of fruits and sap from trees. In captivity, beetle jelly from pet stores will readily be accepted. Fruits, such as grapes and watermelons, that are high in water content are not suitable for these beetles, as they may drown.

Dorcus titanus Giant stag beetle of the family Lucanidae

Dorcus titanus is a beetle of the family Lucanidae. It was described by Jean Baptiste Boisduval in 1835. Huang and Chen (2013) separated Serognathus from Dorcus by representing morphological characters and DNA analysis.

Wildlife of Nepal

Wildlife diversity is a notable feature of Nepal. Because of the variance in climate, from tropical to arctic, Nepal has a large variety of plants and animals. Wildlife tourism is also a major source of tourism in the country. There are some animal species which are unique to Nepal, such as the spiny babbler. Nepal is also host to many rhododendron species. The wildlife of Nepal includes its flora and fauna. Nepal has established numerous national parks and reserves in order to protect its diverse fauna. Nepal is a biodiversity hot spot with ecoregions broadly comprising the mountainous ecoregion, the savanna and grasslands ecoregion of the terai (foothills), and the Rara Lake ecoregion, which has many endemic species.

Nicrophorus nepalensis Species of beetle

Nicrophorus nepalensisHope,, commonly known as burying beetle, is widespread across tropical and subtropical countries in Asia. It belongs to the order Coleoptera and the family Silphidae, and is part of the nepalensis species-group, which is the second largest species group within the genus Nicrophorus. N. nepalensis differs from some other beetles in that it exhibits biparental care. Its role as a decomposer is crucial in the energy cycle and energy transformation in the ecosystem.
