Tin Foil Phoenix is a Canadian post-grunge band from Winnipeg. The band formed from the ashes of a previous incarnation under the moniker of Sonic Bloom with core members Michael Allen Zirk and Steven Kray. Guitarist fish joined soon thereafter. Bassist Paul Robinson joined the band in 1999 and two years later, they added another guitarist, Phil Cholosky.
D.O.A. is a Canadian punk rock band from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. They are often referred to as the "founders" of hardcore punk along with Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, Bad Brains, Angry Samoans, Germs, and Middle Class. Their second album Hardcore '81 was thought by many to have been the first actual reference to the second wave of the American punk sound as hardcore.
Hot Hot Heat was a Canadian indie rock band from Victoria, British Columbia, formed in 1999. The band was signed by Seattle label Sub Pop in 2001 and released its first EP, Knock Knock Knock, and first full-length album, Make Up the Breakdown, the following year. The band released five full-length albums, the last being the self-titled Hot Hot Heat in 2016. The band's style makes use of electronic and traditional instruments and has variously been categorized as dance-punk, post-punk revival, new wave, and art-punk. They made an appearance on Yo Gabba Gabba!, with the song, "Time to Go Outdoors". It was featured on the "Talent" episode.

The group's current lineup is composed of Lesté, Alex Grossi, Anthony Focx, Kenny Kweens (bass) and Timmy Russell (drums). The album's first single, "In a Place of Lesser Men", was released via SoundCloud two months prior on March 21, 2011. Subsequently, "Non Populus" was also released four days later. Five days ahead of the album release, the entire album was available to stream online via ExploreMusic. The album debuted at #5 on the Canadian Albums Chart. The album was nominated for Rock Album of the Year at the 2012 Juno Awards. Good has stated that it is his favourite of his own albums.

Simon Kendall is a Canadian rock musician and film composer. The longtime keyboardist for Doug and the Slugs, he won the Genie Award for Best Original Score at the 14th Genie Awards in 1993 for the film Cadillac Girls, and was shortlisted for Best Original Song at the 22nd Genie Awards in 2001 for "Parting Glass", a song which he cowrote with Tom Landa and Geoffrey Kelly for the film Lunch with Charles.
