Dove Bank is a suburb [1] of Kidsgrove in the Borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme in Staffordshire, England. [2]
Dove Bank is entwined with the rapid expansion of Kidsgrove during the industrial revolution. [3] It was originally agricultural land and remained so until the opening of the nearby Trent and Mersey Canal at nearby Hardings Wood. Followed by the opening of the Stafford–Manchester line and Crewe–Derby line of the North Staffordshire Railway. [4]
The area was served by both Kidsgrove station (still open) and Kidsgrove Liverpool Road station (now closed) which was on the Potteries Loop Line. [5]
Dove Bank is home to both the "Dove Bank Primary School" [6] and "Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Academy". Today, the area is a large residential area of Kidsgrove. [7]
Dove Bank has regular services to Kidsgrove, Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Alsager and Congleton. [8]
The aforementioned Kidsgrove rail station also serves the area.
