Dubai Investments Park

Dubai Investments Park (DIP), including Dubai Investment Park 1 (to the west) and Dubai Investment Park 2 (to the east), is a business park area in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, including commercial, and industrial, and residential development. [1] The Green Community Village and Green Community East in DIP 1 are to the north and Dunes Village in DIP 2 is to the northeast. DIP was established in 1995. [2]

Dubai Investments Park covers an area of 2,300 hectares. [3] Greenfield International School, a private international school established in 2007, is located here.

The Dubai Investment Park metro station in the Green Community Village area of Dubai Investment Park 1 is on the Route 2020 branch line of the Dubai Metro to the Expo 2020 site immediately to the south of Dubai Investment Park, across Expo Road (E77). To the west is the Jebel Ali Industrial Area, across the E311 road, and to the southwest is the Jebel Ali Free Zone Extension.

The development includes the Lagoons, under development by Schön Properties since 2005; Schön's assets were seized by the Dubai Real Estate Regulatory Agency in August 2018 over the company's failure to complete the development. [4]

The government of Dubai took a decision to diversify from a trade-based, oil-reliant economy to one that is service and tourism-oriented. This has made real estate and other developments more valuable, thus resulting in a property boom from 2004 to 2006. Construction on a large scale has turned Dubai into one of the fastest-growing cities in the world. There are a number of large-scale projects which are currently under construction or are to be constructed in the future. Due to the heavy construction which is taking place in Dubai, 30,000 construction cranes, which are 25% of cranes worldwide, are operating in Dubai. Due to the burst of construction, Dubai has acquired various building-related records, which include: the world's tallest tower, the world's largest shopping mall, the world's largest fountain and the world's tallest hotel. Also under construction is Dubailand, which will be almost twice the size of the Walt Disney World Resort.

Schön Properties was a Dubai-based real estate developer owned by the Schon family, which originated in Pakistan. The company had been involved in several development projects in Dubai, including the Schon Business Park project and Dubai Lagoons in Dubai Investment Park, which was started in 2005, but was hit hard by the financial crisis of 2007–2008.
