The Gardens is a suburban neighbourhood in the Jebel Ali district of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. [2]
The Gardens community is in the northeast part of the Jebel Ali Village area. The original Jebel Ali Village was constructed in 1977 to provide accommodation to construction contractors' staff. [3] At this time, Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum planned to develop Jebel Ali into an industrial area with its own airport (now Al Maktoum International Airport to the south), port (now the Port of Jebel Ali), and township (now Jebel Ali). The area was effectively a small British-style garden city [4] and a project of Sir William Halcrow and Partners. [4] [5]
In later development by Nakheel Properties, [6] the first residents moved into properties in The Gardens during August 2001, with space for 10,000 residents in landscaped grounds. [1]
The location is served by The Gardens metro station, a Dubai Metro station on the Route 2020 branch of the Red Line for Expo 2020. [7] [8]
There are around 286 houses and 129 low-rise apartment buildings. [2] It lies between Discovery Gardens to the northeast, the main Jebel Ali Village area to the south, and Sheikh Zayed Road to the northwest. [2] [9] Ibn Battuta Mall is a large themed shopping mall immediately adjacent to the northwest of The Garden, with its own metro station.
The Winchester School and the Dubai branch of the Delhi Private School are located on the southwest side of the neighbourhood. The Gardens Cricket Ground is also located here. [10] The Omar Bin Abdul Aziz Mosque is on the edge of The Gardens to the north. [11] Foxes have been found in the area. [12]

Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum was an Emirati royal, politician and a founder of the United Arab Emirates. Al Maktoum was the first vice president and second prime minister of the United Arab Emirates, and was the ruler of Dubai. He ruled Dubai for 32 years from 1958 until his death in 1990. He was the vice president from the founding of the UAE until his death. Al Maktoum was the first vice president to serve as prime minister concurrently, when he became prime minister on 30 April 1979. Every prime minister after him was de facto also vice president.
E 11 is a highway in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The longest road in the Emirates, it stretches from the Al Batha border crossing at the Saudi Arabia–UAE border in al-Silah in the al-Dhafra region of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and ends at the Oman–UAE border crossing of al-Darah in al-Jeer, Emirate of Ras al-Khaimah, running roughly parallel to UAE's coastline along the Persian Gulf. The road forms the main artery in some emirates' main cities, where it assumes various alternate names —Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Road and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Road in Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, Al Ittihad Road in Sharjah Emirate and Ajman Emirate, and Sheikh Muhammad bin Salem Road in Ras al-Khaimah.
Jebel Ali is a port town 35 kilometers (22 mi) south-west of Dubai. The Jebel Ali Port is located there. Al Maktoum International Airport has been constructed just outside the port area. Jebel Ali is connected to Dubai via the UAE Exchange, Danube and Energy stations on the Dubai Metro. Among the infrastructure projects built to support the port and town is the world's largest desalination plant, the Jebel Ali Desalination Plant, providing an ample supply of freshwater.
Nakheel Properties is a real estate development company based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The formal name of the company is Nakheel PJSC and it was a subsidiary of Dubai World and a private state-owned enterprise.
Palm Jebel Ali is an artificial archipelago in Dubai, United Arab Emirates which began construction in October 2002, was originally planned to be completed by mid-2008 and has been on hold since. Creative Kingdom provided master planning services for the island and Leisure Quest International (USA) developed entertainment and attraction concepts. The project, which is 50 percent larger than Palm Jumeirah, is proposed to include six marinas, a water theme park, a 'Sea Village', homes built on stilts above the water, and boardwalks that circle the "fronds" of the "palm" and spell out an Arabic poem by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The Red Line is one of the two lines of the Dubai Metro network in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Red Line runs from Centrepoint in the east to Expo City Dubai in the west and travels parallel to Sheikh Zayed Road for most of its length.
Jebel Ali Village (JAV) is a neighbourhood in Jebel Ali, southern Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Now it is a redevelopment by Nakheel Properties of the existing Jebel Ali Village. Churches Complex of Jebel Ali is located here.
Al Furjan is a property development in Jebel Ali, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Nakheel Properties heads the development and Azizi Developments owns the largest number of residential buildings. It borders Jebel Ali Village and is near Ibn Battuta Mall, the Gardens, and Expo 2020. Homes in Al Furjan are typically built in Al Hejaz, Dubai, or Quortaj styles.

Union is a rapid transit station on the Green and Red Lines of the Dubai Metro in Dubai. It is one of two transfer stations between lines, the other being BurJuman. Since it began service, over 16.224 million passengers have used Union station, making it the busiest station on the network.
