Wafi city is a Urban development city in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The complex includes a mall, two 5-star hotels, restaurants, residences, and a nightclub. The "city" is styled after Ancient Egypt. This themed environment includes columns reminiscent of Karnak, small pyramids, and images of pharaohs. The walls are the colour of the light brown stone that can be found on structures in Ancient Egypt.
The nearest metro station is Dubai Healthcare City on the Green Line. [1]
The main feature of Wafi is the mall, called Wafi Mall. Opened in 1991, [2] the mall includes over 300 stores. Wafi Mall features stained glass ceilings, with scenes selected from mosques and temples across the Islamic world.[ citation needed ]
In 2007, many masked gunmen rammed two cars into some shops at the mall. They stole cash and diamonds. They were later found in Europe and sent back to Dubai. [3]
In November 2007, Raffles opened its first property in the Middle East. Raffles Dubai is a 5-star hotel in a pyramidal shape that contains 248 rooms on 18 floors. [4] The Raffles Dubai hotel is ranked amongst the top hotels in the world. [5] [6] [7] This building is positioned close to the Khan Murjan Souk Wafi.
The Sofitel Dubai The Obelisk owned by Accor was opened in November 2020. It is built in an Obelisk shape with a structural height of 230 m (755 ft) [8] and contains 498 rooms on 50 floors in addition to 96 furnished Apartments & Residences. [9]
The Pyramids is a complex that contains several restaurants, cafés, and spas, [10] including Cleopatra's Spa and Pharaoh's Club. [11]
Wafi Residence is a residential complex that opened in July 1995. Residents have full membership to the spas in the Pyramids. [12]
Sofitel Hotels & Resorts are a French hotel chain of luxury hotels based in Paris, France, and owned by Accor since 1980. Founded in 1964 in France, Sofitel quickly developed worldwide to reach more than 200 properties. In 2008, Sofitel became a brand of luxury hotels only, downsized its property count to 89, and created new brands. Sofitel had 130 properties by January 2023.
Falcon City of Wonders (FCW) is a Dubai-based real-estate project was founded in 2005. The project include international-themed villas, spacious apartments, shopping malls, hotels, business offices, fine-dining restaurants, health clubs, spas, nurseries, schools and parks. It was built by the Jalayirid governor of Baghdad, Amin al-Din Murjan in the 14th century originally as a caravanserai, an inn for traveling merchants, with a large center hall that was 13 metres (43 ft) high. It features crenelated arches of brick, as well as perforated windows.
Four Seasons Hotel Baltimore is a 30-story highrise hotel and condominium complex in Baltimore, Maryland. The hotel portion of the building opened on November 14, 2011. The building's construction began in 2007 and went through several changes. Developers originally planned the project as two towers, with a portion for residences. The hotel occupies just one of the towers, with the second being used as the Legg Mason Tower. A residential portion, comprising eight additional floors of condo units, began construction in 2014. The eight additional floors took almost four years to complete, adding an additional 62 residential units atop the existing hotel portion, separated by a mechanical floor.
