History

Duquesne started play in 1974, joining Division I and the Atlantic 10 in 1984. As of the end of the 2015–16 season, the Dukes have an all-time record of 561–578, with a Division I record of 457–507. They have made the NCAA Tournament once and they have made the WNIT seven times. [2]

The Duquesne Dukes football program is the intercollegiate American football team for Duquesne University located in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. The team competes in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) and is a member of the Northeast Conference (NEC). Duquesne has played as a club team from 1891 to 1894, 1896 to 1903, 1913 to 1914, and 1920 to 1928, as an National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) member from 1929 to 1942 and 1947 to 1950, again as a club team from 1969 to 1978, in NCAA Division III from 1979 to 1992, and in the NCAA Division I FCS from 1993 to present.

The James Madison Dukes men's basketball team is the intercollegiate men's basketball program representing James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The school, a member of Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, joined the Sun Belt Conference on July 1, 2022, after having been a member of the Colonial Athletic Association since that league's establishment in 1979. The Dukes are led by head coach Preston Spradlin. The Dukes play their home games at the on-campus Atlantic Union Bank Center which seats 8,500 fans and opened in November 2020. The Dukes have appeared six times in the NCAA tournament, most recently in 2024.

The Duquesne Dukes men's soccer team is a varsity intercollegiate athletic team of Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, United States. The team is a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference, which is part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I. Duquesne's first men's soccer team was fielded in 1995. The team plays its home games at Rooney Field in Pittsburgh. The Dukes are coached by Chase Brooks.

The Dukes were members of the Atlantic 10 Conference and played their home games at the Palumbo Center. They finished the season 28–6, 13–3 in A-10 play to share the A-10 regular season title with George Washington and Saint Louis. They advanced to the championship game of the A-10 women's tournament where they lost to George Washington. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA women's tournament for the first time in school history where they defeated Seton Hall in the first round before getting blown out by Connecticut in the second round. With 28 wins in the regular season, the most wins in school history.

They finished the season 18–16, 8–8 in A-10 play to finish in a tie for seventh place. They advanced to the championship game of the A-10 women's tournament where they lost to Dayton. They were invited to the Women's National Invitation Tournament where they lost to Drexel in the first round.

The Dukes were members of the Atlantic 10 Conference and played their home games at the Palumbo Center. They finished the season 19–13, 11–5 in A-10 play to finish in third place. They advance to the semifinals of the A-10 women's tournament where they lost to Fordham. Despite having 19 wins, they were not invited to a postseason tournament for the first time since 2008.

The 2019–20 Duquesne Dukes men's basketball team represented Duquesne University during the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Dukes, led by third-year head coach Keith Dambrot, were members of the Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10). The Dukes finished the season 21–9, 11–7 in A-10 play, to finish in a tie for fifth place. Their season ended when the A-10 tournament and all other postseason tournament were canceled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The 2022–23 Duquesne Dukes men's basketball team represented Duquesne University during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was led by sixth-year head coach Keith Dambrot and played their home games at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference. They finished the season 20–11, 10–8 in A-10 play to finish in a tie for sixth place. They lost to La Salle in the first round of the A-10 tournament. The Dukes were invited to the College Basketball Invitational where they were defeated by Rice in the first round.
