Maximilian Nepomuk Mutzke is a German singer, songwriter and television personality. He gained public interest in early 2004 when he won SSDSGPS, a talent contest hosted in Stefan Raab's late-night show TV total. Mutzke subsequently qualified for and won the national pre-selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2004, Germany 12 Points!, and thus represented Germany with his debut single "Can't Wait Until Tonight" that year, eventually finishing eighth in a field of 24 participants. Meanwhile, "Can't Wait Until Tonight" debuted atop the German singles chart and became a top five hit in Austria and Switzerland. His eponymous debut album, a mixture of soul and pop songs in German and English language, was released in January 2005 and also reached number one in Germany, where it was certified gold by the Bundesverband Musikindustrie (BVMI).

Germany participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 with the song "Can't Wait Until Tonight" written by Stefan Raab. The song was performed by Max. Songwriter Stefan Raab represented Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest 2000 with the song "Wadde hadde dudde da?" where he placed fifth in the competition. The German entry for the 2004 contest in Istanbul, Turkey was selected through the national final Germany 12 Points!, organised by the German broadcaster ARD in collaboration with Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR). The national final took place on 19 March 2004 and featured ten competing acts with the winner being selected through two rounds of public televoting. "Can't Wait Until Tonight" performed by Max was selected as the German entry for Istanbul after placing first in the top two during the first round of voting and ultimately gaining 853,688 votes in the second round.

"Can't Wait Until Tonight" was the German entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2004, performed in English and Turkish by Maximilian Mutzke. The song was written and composed by Stefan Raab, who previously had written both Guildo Horn's 1998 entry "Guildo hat euch lieb!" and his own "Wadde hadde dudde da?" in 2000.

"Herzlich tut mich verlangen" is a German hymn, with lyrics written in 1599 by Christoph Knoll, with a melody adapted from a secular song by Hans Leo Hassler. It is a prayer for a blessed death, beginning "Herzlich tut mich verlangen nach einem sel'gen End". Its hymn tune, Zahn No. 5385a, was later also used for Paul Gerhardt's "Befiehl du deine Wege" and "O Haupt voll Blut und Wunden".

The second season of the German singing competition The Masked Singer premiered on 10 March 2020 on ProSieben. Ruth Moschner returned in the panelist, with Rea Garvey, replacing Collien Ulmen-Fernandes and Max Giesinger. Matthias Opdenhövel also returned as host.
