EDB Business Partner ASA, trading as EDB (Norwegian : Elektronisk Databehandling) was a Norwegian information technology company that supplied many services relating to computing, including operation, outsourcing and online banking. The company was headquartered in Oslo and listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange. Telenor owned 51.3% of EDB. EDB BP has wholly owned subsidiaries in Sweden and Denmark, and more recently acquired the majority of Miratech and Infopulse, which are Ukrainian IT companies.

EDB Business Partner was a full owner in the companies Fellesdata AS (acquired 2001), Avenir AS, EDB Telecom AS, Spring Consulting AS, PDS AS and TAG Systems AS. On 8 January 2008, an agreement was entered into with StatoilHydro that the company would purchase IS Partner, which was previously under Hydro under the name Hydro IS Partner.

In June 2010, EDB announced a merger with ErgoGroup, another big IT company in Norway. [3] [4] As of October 2010, [5] the newly merged company was called EDB ErgoGroup, which in March 2012, took the name Evry. [6] [7]

The company made headlines in several major newspapers in Sweden in March 2009, when a consultant hired through a recruitment company was fired because he, outside work, had expressed political views belonging to the Pirate Party in a public chat interview organized by the newspaper Nerikes Allehanda. The Lars Vilks Muhammad drawings controversy began in July 2007 with a series of drawings by Swedish artist Lars Vilks that depicted the Islamic prophet Muhammad as a roundabout dog. Several art galleries in Sweden declined to show the drawings, citing security concerns and fear of violence. The controversy gained international attention after the Örebro-based regional newspaper Nerikes Allehanda published one of the drawings on 18 August as part of an editorial on self-censorship and freedom of religion.

ErgoGroup was a Nordic information technology corporation, systems integrator and consulting company headquartered in Oslo, Norway. The company provided services for IT operations, business solutions, outsourcing, infrastructure and consulting. ErgoGroup had a total of 90 offices and regional branches throughout Norway, Sweden and Finland, and was a subsidiary of Posten Norge, the Norwegian Postal Service. It was the second largest ICT operations company in Norway. The company also held partial ownership in SYSteam, TransWare, Gecko, Eiendomsverdi, Buypass, Eye-Share and Bekk Consulting. ErgoGroup merged with EDB Business Partner in 2010, creating EVRY.

Thorleif Enger is a Norwegian businessperson and was Chief Executive Officer of Yara International. Enger was educated at the University of Colorado where he earned his PhD in Structural Engineering. He worked for Royal Dutch Shell until 1973, after which he moved to Norway to work for Norsk Hydro. He was director of the Oseberg oil field 1982–86, and from then until 1996 was president of the exploration and production division. He was then executive vice president of Hydro Oil and Gas until 1999, when he became executive vice president of Hydro Agri, and when this division was demerged to create Yara in 2004 he became its CEO. He announced his retirement in September 2008. Norli (bookshop) Norwegian bookstore chain

Norli Libris, is a Norwegian bookstore chain that owns both Norli and Libris book stores. Norli Libris owns bookstores in the Norli chain directly, while the Libris stores are mainly owned by individuals. Founded in 2000 as Norli Gruppen AS, later merging to become Norli Libris AS, it is one of the largest bookshop chains in Norway. One of Norli's bookshops in the city center of Oslo has around 60,000 different titles, making it one of the largest selections of books in Scandinavia. They sell books both in Norwegian and other languages.
