FIS Alpine Ski World Cup

The FIS Alpine Ski World Cup is the top international circuit of alpine skiing competitions, launched in 1966 by a group of ski racing friends and experts which included French journalist Serge Lang and the alpine ski team directors from France and the USA. It was soon backed by International Ski Federation president Marc Hodler during the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 1966 at Portillo, Chile, and became an official FIS event in the spring of 1967 after the FIS Congress at Beirut, Lebanon. The first World Cup ski race was held in Berchtesgaden, West Germany, on January 5, 1967. Jean-Claude Killy of France and Nancy Greene of Canada were the overall winners for the first two seasons.

The Tour de Ski (TdS) is a cross-country skiing event held annually since the 2006–07 season in Central Europe, modeled on the Tour de France of cycling. The Tour de Ski is a Stage World Cup event in the FIS Cross-Country World Cup. Each Tour de Ski has consisted of six to nine stages, held during late December and early January in the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland. As of 2022, the prize money for the event amount to 548,000 Swiss francs, shared out on both men and women. Men's and women's events are held together on the same days, with the only difference being the distance skied.

BOclassic

The BOclassic is an annual road running competition over the distance of 10 kilometres for men and 5 kilometres for women. It is held on New Year's Eve in Bolzano, Italy. The competition has only elite races, competed between a limited number of runners, but over 10,000 spectators gather in the streets each year to witness the race. The race has been broadcast live on television by Italian channel Rai Sport Più.

2016–17 FIS Alpine Ski World Cup

The International Ski Federation (FIS) Alpine Skiing World Cup is the premier circuit for alpine skiing competition. The inaugural FIS World Cup season launched 55 years ago in January 1967 and this 51st season began on 22 October 2016 in Sölden, Austria, and concluded in the United States at Aspen on 19 March 2017. The biennial World Championships interrupted the tour in early February in Saint Moritz, Switzerland. The season-ending finals in March were held in North America for the first time in two decades: the last finale in the U.S. was in 1997 at Vail.

Rettenbach (ski slope)

Rettenbach is a World Cup giant slalom ski course in Austria on Rettenbach glacier above Sölden, Tyrol. Located on Wildspitze mountain in the Ötztal Alps, the race course debuted in 1993.

The 2021–22 Tour de Ski was the 16th edition of the Tour de Ski and part of the 2021–22 FIS Cross-Country World Cup. The World Cup stage event began in Lenzerheide, Switzerland on 28 December 2021 and concluded with the Final Climb stage in Val di Fiemme, Italy, on 4 January 2022. The tour was the fourth edition starting in Lenzerheide. Alexander Bolshunov from Russia and Jessie Diggins from United States were the title defenders.

2022 Alpine Skiing World Cup – Womens Giant Slalom

The Women's Giant Slalom World Cup 2021/2022 was scheduled for 9 events including the final. Only the top 25 of the specific ranking and the winner of the Junior World Championship, plus athletes who have scored at least 500 points in the overall classification, are eligible to compete in the final, and only the top 15 score points.

Corviglia is a World Cup ski course in Engadin valley under Piz Nair mountain in Albula Alps opened in 1934. It is located in St. Moritz, Grisons, Switzerland.

Dolomiti Superski

The Dolomiti Superski is a ski area in Italy. Created in 1974, it is spread over an area of about 3,000 km2 in the Triveneto region of Italy, and includes most of the winter ski slopes of the Dolomites. Comprising 12 ski resorts and a total of 1,246 km of slopes, it is the largest ski area in the world. It regularly hosts World Cup alpine skiing and snowboarding races.

Kälberloch is a women's World Cup dowhnill ski course, on Gamskogel mountain in Zauchensee, Altenmarkt im Pongau, Austria, debuted in 1990.
