Richard Henry Lee was an American statesman and Founding Father from Virginia best known for the Lee Resolution, the motion in the Second Continental Congress calling for the colonies' independence from Great Britain. He was a signatory to the Articles of Confederation, and his "resolution for independency" of June 1776 led to the United States Declaration of Independence, which Lee signed. He also served a one-year term as the President of the Congress of the Confederation, and was a United States Senator from Virginia from 1789 to 1792, serving during part of that time as the second President pro tempore of the upper house.
Westmoreland County is a county located in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. At the 2010 census, the population was 365,169. The county seat is Greensburg. Formed from, successively, Lancaster, Northumberland, and later Bedford Counties, Westmoreland County was founded on February 26, 1773, and was the first county in the colony of Pennsylvania whose entire territorial boundary was located west of the Allegheny Mountains. Westmoreland County originally included the present-day counties of Fayette, Washington, Greene, and parts of Beaver, Allegheny, Indiana, and Armstrong counties. It is named after Westmorland, a historic county of England.
The Northern Neck is the northernmost of three peninsulas on the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay in the Commonwealth of Virginia. This peninsula is bounded by the Potomac River on the north and the Rappahannock River on the south. The state highway also passes through the Potomac River resort of Colonial Beach, where the highway has a spur, State Route 205Y.

Known as Stratford Hall Road, the state highway runs 2.48 miles (3.99 km) from SR 3 at Lerty northeast to SR 609 near Bryant Town in northern Westmoreland County. SR 214 provides access to Stratford Hall, the birthplace of Robert E. Lee.

Pennsylvania Route 982 is a state highway which runs 32.15 miles across Fayette and Westmoreland counties, in southwestern Pennsylvania. The highway begins at U.S. Route 119 in Moyer, Pennsylvania, and runs northward into Westmoreland County, passing through the towns of Youngstown, Latrobe, and Derry before ending at U.S. Route 22/U.S. Route 119 near Blairsville.
U.S. Route 119 (US 119) travels through Connellsville, Greensburg, and Punxsutawney, and bypasses Uniontown and Indiana. There are numerous other boroughs and villages along its 133-mile (214 km) route in the Keystone State. The southern entrance of US 119 is at the West Virginia state line one-half-mile south of Point Marion. The northern terminus is at US 219 two miles (3 km) south of DuBois, Pennsylvania. US 119 is in the National Highway System from the West Virginia state line to Exit 0 of PA Turnpike 66, and from US 22 to US 219. From US 22 to US 219, the highway carries the name of the Buffalo-Pittsburgh Highway; from US 22 to PA 56, it is also known as the Patrick J. Stapleton Highway; near Uniontown, it bears the name George C. Marshall Parkway.

Coles Point is an unincorporated community in Westmoreland County, in the U. S. state of Virginia. Coles Point is part of the Northern Neck of Virginia and lies on a peninsula the juts out into the Chesapeake Bay on its East side and is flanked by the Potomac River to the North and the Rappahannock. River to the South. Coles Point Marina, www.colespointmarina.com, is a destination marina located on the water at Coles Point about 15 minutes from Montross, VA. Coles Point is a popular destination for visitors who enjoy boating, fishing & crabbing and there are many vacation homes here. Many Coles Point locals are involved in commercial fishing trade and primarily focused on blue crabs, striped bass (rockfish) and shellfish.
Hinnom is an unincorporated community in Westmoreland County, in the Commonwealth of Virginia. It lies about five miles from Montross, Virginia, at the end of Zacata Road, and consists of the region south of Nomini Bay and west of Nomini Creek. It no longer has a Post Office or a ferry landing.
