Lerty is an unincorporated community in Westmoreland County, in the U. S. state of Virginia. [1] [2]
The community had a post office from approximately 1917 through 1960. [3] "Lerty" seems to have been a remote family name of the wife of R.L. Gutridge, who the first postmater of the post office. [3]
Local newspapers would report of the news from the Lerty community. [4]
