Ector County Independent School District (ECISD) is a public school district based in Odessa, Texas, United States.
In addition to the majority of Odessa (the portions in Ector County), the district also serves the communities of West Odessa, Gardendale, and Goldsmith, as well as rural areas in Ector County. [1]
ECISD was established in 1921. [2] In 2011, the school district was rated "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency. [3] This district is home to the AVID National Demonstration School, Odessa High School.

It is part of the McAllen–Edinburg–Mission Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town developed during the early 1960s as a trailer park. It is named for Francisco Solano López, a former president of Paraguay, a descendant of whom founded his namesake trailer park.

Normally, the school is commonly referred to as Odessa High or just OHS. In 2011, the school was rated "Academically Acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency. On April 17, 2014, Odessa High School was named an AVID National Demonstration School.
