Adam Piotr Kszczot is a retired Polish middle-distance runner who specialised in the 800 metres. His achievements include silver medals at the 2015 and 2017 World Championships in Athletics, gold at the 2018 World Indoor Championships as well as silver and bronze at the 2014 and 2010 World Indoor Championships respectively. Kszczot won three gold medals in the 800 m at both the European Outdoor and Indoor Championships. He twice competed at the Olympic Games, in 2012 and 2016, narrowly missing the final on both occasions.

He is the only athlete in history who has won the 400 m title at the World Indoor Championships at three consecutive championships. Alex Amankwah is a Ghanaian middle-distance runner specialising in the 800 metres. He attended college and competed in athletics at the University of Alabama, where he set a school record and was a First Team All-American in the indoor 800 metres. He qualified for the 800 metres at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing, China but was unable to compete due to visa issues. He also represented Ghana in the 4 × 400 metres relay at the 2015 African Games.

At the 2024 Summer Olympics, Hoppel set an American record in the event, with a time of 1:41.67 to become the seventh fastest man and the second fastest North American man at the distance.
Djamel Sedjati is an Algerian middle-distance runner specializing in the 800 meters. He is the fifth fastest man in history at the distance, behind Marco Arop, Emanuel Wanyonyi, Wilson Kipketer and world record holder David Rudisha. Sedjati won the bronze medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics in the 800 metres event.
Dillon Maggard is an American middle and long-distance runner. He competed collegiately for the Utah State Aggies, where he was a nine-time All American. He now works as an assistant coach for the team. He competed in the 3000 metres at the 2022 World Athletics Indoor Championships, where he placed 9th in the final.
