Edsbyn Arena is a sports venue in Edsbyn, Sweden. It is the home of Edsbyns IF. [1] Inaugurated on 22 September 2003 by King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, it was the first indoor bandy rink in Sweden. [2]

Major work was completed following the 2002–2003 season. On 31 March 2003, construction of the ceiling began. [3] The unit was shut down the same day, and removal of the former ice began. In April the same year, the wooden beams were delivered. [4]

The first game inside was played on 5 October 2003 when Edsbyns IF defeated Ljusdals IF, 7–1, in a friendly game. [5] Walls weren't added until after the 2003–2004 season. [6]

The combination Allsvenskan and Elitserien was earlier the highest level of bandy in Sweden contested annually between Swedish bandy clubs. The Allsvenskan was split into two regional divisions: the Allsvenskan Norra (north) and the Allsvenskan Södra (south), in which the teams played during the autumn. After the Christmas holiday the Allsvenskan was split into Elitserien and Superallsvenskan. The season ended in March with a final on Studenternas IP like the Super Bowl.

Söderholm has played for the Swedish national bandy team making his debut in the 2001–02 season. Söderholm has been a member of Swedish championship winning squads in the 1999–2000, 2001–02 and 2002–03 seasons for Sandvikens AIK and the 2003–04 season for Edsbyns IF He was also a member of the Bandy World Cup winning squad in 2001–02 season.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Elitserien (bandy)</span>

The Elitserien is since the 2007–08 season the highest bandy league in Sweden. It consists of 14 teams. The season ends with one final game in March. The final was held at Studenternas IP in Uppsala from 1991 until 2012. In 2013 and 2014 the final was played at Friends Arena in Solna, and from 2015 to 2017 it was played at the Tele2 Arena. The final returned to 4,600-capacity Studenternas IP indoor stadium in 2018.

The 2014–15 Elitserien was the eighth season of the present highest Swedish men's bandy top division, Elitserien. The regular season began on 24 October 2014, and the final was played at Tele2 Arena in Stockholm on 14 March 2015.

Svenska Cupen, Svenska Cupen i bandy, is a knockout cup competition in Swedish bandy and the main bandy cup only open for domestic Swedish teams.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Sävstaås IP</span>

Sävstaås IP is a sports ground in Bollnäs, Sweden, used for bandy, soccer and track and field athletics. The bandy rink, which was the home soil for Bollnäs GIF, was inaugurated for the 1973–1974 season and artificial ice was installed in 1984. Before 1973, Bollnäs GIF had played its bandy home games at Långnäs IP.

The 2015–16 Elitserien was the ninth season of the present highest Swedish men's bandy top division, Elitserien. The regular season began on 23 October 2015, and the final was played at Tele2 Arena in Stockholm on 19 March 2016. Västerås SK won the Swedish national championship title by defeating Villa Lidköping BK, 5-2, in the final game.

The 2016–17 Elitserien was the tenth season of the present highest Swedish men's bandy top division, Elitserien. The regular season began on 21 October 2016, and the final was played at Tele2 Arena in Stockholm on 25 March 2017. Edsbyns IF won the Swedish national championship title by defeating Bollnäs GIF, 3–1, in the final game, thereby securing Edsbyn's tenth championship title, making the club alone the third most successful Swedish bandy club so far.
