Kalix UHC, or Kalix ungdomshockeyclub, is a Swedish ice hockey club based in Kalix in northern Sweden. The club was founded in 2001 by members of the community when the area's previous hockey club, Kalix HF, was threatened with bankruptcy. The club's A-team competes in Division 1, the third tier of ice hockey in Sweden, as of the 2013–14 season.

Kalix Bandyförening, is a bandy club from Kalix, Sweden, founded on 2 May 1990. The club has been playing in the top-tier of Swedish bandy, Elitserien, in the 2011–12 season and then again since the 2013–14 season.

Nyborgs Sportklubb, Nyborgs SK, is a sports club in Nyborg, Kalix, Sweden. The team colours are blue and white. The club was founded on 10 March 1946 and is active playing bandy and association football.

The 2016–17 Elitserien was the tenth season of the present highest Swedish men's bandy top division, Elitserien. The regular season began on 21 October 2016, and the final was played at Tele2 Arena in Stockholm on 25 March 2017. Edsbyns IF won the Swedish national championship title by defeating Bollnäs GIF, 3–1, in the final game, thereby securing Edsbyn's tenth championship title, making the club alone the third most successful Swedish bandy club so far.

The 2017–18 Elitserien is the eleventh season of the present highest Swedish men's bandy top division, Elitserien. The regular season begins in late-October 2017.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Capitulation of Kalix</span> 1809 battle of the Finnish War

The Capitulation of Kalix took place during the Finnish War, on 25 March 1809, when 3,800–4,500 Swedish and Finnish troops under Hans Henrik Gripenberg surrendered to a much larger Russian army under Pavel Andreyevich Shuvalov, as part of a large Russian threefold attack against Sweden. The capitulation was characterised by the Swedish High Command as treacherous and Gripenberg was soon court-martialed.
