Edwin Klein (born 19 June 1948) is a German former athlete. He competed in the men's hammer throw at the 1972 Summer Olympics and the 1976 Summer Olympics. [1]

Roelof Klein was a Dutch rower who competed at the 1900 Summer Olympics in Paris. Klein was part of the Dutch eight team that won a bronze medal with Hermanus Brockmann as the coxswain. Brockmann also steered the boat of Klein and François Brandt in the coxed pairs semifinal, which they lost to France. The pair realized that the 60 kg weight of Brockmann puts them in disadvantage; they replaced him with a local boy of 33 kg and won the final narrowly beating the French team.

The men's hammer throw competition at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, Quebec, Canada took place on 26–28 July. There were 20 competitors from 13 nations. The maximum number of athletes per nation had been set at 3 since the 1930 Olympic Congress. The event was won by Yuriy Sedykh of the Soviet Union, the nation's second consecutive and fourth overall victory in the men's hammer throw. The Soviets swept the medals, with Aleksey Spiridonov taking silver and defending champion Anatoliy Bondarchuk earning bronze. It was the third medal sweep in the men's hammer throw. Bondarchuk was the seventh man to win multiple medals in the event.

Edwin Fisher Gilbert was an American competition swimmer who represented the United States at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London. He competed for the gold medal-winning U.S. team in the qualifying heats of the men's 4×200-meter freestyle relay. Gilbert did not receive a medal under the Olympic swimming rules in effect in 1948; only relay swimmers who competed in the event final were medal-eligible.
