Eigi Kona (English: Stallone, My Pony) is a 2019 Manipuri film directed by Bobby Wahengbam and Maipaksana Haorongbam and produced by Dr. K. Sushila Leima, under the banner of Luwang Apokpa Mamikol Productions. [1] [2] The film was premiered at Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS), Palace Compound in 2019. [3] [4] Eigi Kona was selected for Indian Panorama of the 51st International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2020. [5] [6] The movie won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Manipuri at the 67th National Film Awards. [7]
Eigi Kona got official selections at the Indica Film Utsav 2020, 4th Ottawa Indian Film Festival Awards (OIFFA) 2021 and Thrissur International Film Festival 2021. [8] [9] [10]
The film was also screened at the 52nd International Film Festival of India 2021 under the section India@75. It was organized as a part of the celebrations to commemorate 75 years of India's independence, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and 18 films were selected under the section. [11]
Thawai, a young boy, loves to play polo riding Stallone, a Manipuri pony. Stallone is descendant of the horse his famous polo pony his grandfather rode, but the family have fallen on hard times. When Thawai's father is forced to sell Stallone to alleviate their poverty, Thawai becomes sick with pangs of separation from the horse. Finding Thawai's suffering unbearable, his friends and family, including his coach and mentor try to get Stallone back. The owner, who was once a great polo player, finally hands over the pony to Thawai for the love of the game.
The movie won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Manipuri at the 67th National Film Awards. [12] The citation for the National Award reads, "A thrilling film revealing the present plight and conditions of polo players and ponies in their place of origin."
Sinam Shaolin who plays the role of Thawai won the Best Child Artist award at the 13th Manipur State Film Awards 2020. [13] [14]

Makhonmani Mongsaba is an Indian author, actor, producer and director from Imphal, Manipur. He got his doctorate degree in Manipuri from Manipur University. In 2013, he won the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award for his book Chinglon Amadagi Amada, a travelogue. He published the book Matamgi Manipur:The First Manipuri Feature Film by Bobby Wahengbam under the name Angomningthou Preservation and Documentation. It won the Best Book on Cinema at the 65th National Film Awards 2018 and both the writer and the publisher received the Swarna Kamal award.
Oinam Gautam Singh is an Indian film director and editor who works in Manipuri films. He started his career in Manipuri cinema as an editor and later took up direction since more than a decade. One of the successful filmmakers in Manipuri Cinema, he is the recipient of many awards, including a National Film Award for his 2011 movie Phijigee Mani. Gautam has worked under eminent film personalities like Aribam Syam Sharma and Oken Amakcham. He had been a Jury Member of Indian Panorama for 45th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2014.
Irom Maipak was an Indian cinematographer from Imphal, Manipur. He was the founding president of the All Manipur Cinematographers Association. Maipak had worked for more than three decades in Films and Television industry. Huirem Seema was an Indian actress from Imphal, Manipur. She had appeared in more than 100 Manipuri films. As a producer, she had four Manipuri digital films to her credit. She was best known for her roles in movies like Kanaga Hinghouni, Chang Shi Chang, Lakhipurgi Lakhipyari, Naoshum, Yumleima Lamleima and Thasi Thanou. Bobby Wahengbam is an Indian filmmaker, producer, writer and film critic known for his works in Manipuri films. He is the recipient of several accolades, including two National Film Awards. As a film critic, he contributed regularly for local and national newspapers for the last two decades, where some of his writings have been translated into other languages as well. Now, he regularly writes as a cinema critic for The People's Chronicle, a local English daily, every Sunday.

The film stars Leishangthem Tonthoi in the lead role. It was premiered at Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS), Imphal on 26 June 2022. The film got official selections at the 4th Nepal Cultural International Film Festival 2022, Druk International Film Festival 2022 (Bhutan), Festivus Film Fest Canada 2022, Dadashaheb Phalke International Film Festival India 2023 and Gangtok International Film Festival 2022. It was screened at the 28th Kolkata International Film Festival in 'Short and Documentary Panorama section' on 19th and 21st December 2022 at Nandan-III and Sichir Mancha, Kolkata. The film was certified by Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in 2022.Tonthoi won the Best Actor (Female) for her film Eewai at the Global Independent Film Festival of India, 2022 held on 30th November, 2022 at Rabindra Okakura Bhawan, Salt Lake, Kolkata, India and at Goa International Film Competition-GIFC and Best Actor (Female) NexGn Fest as the Finalist and Best Director Finalist Khwairakpam Bishwamittra at the NexGn Fest.
