Eilidh Gibson (born 4 October 1995 in Kinross) is a Scottish slalom canoeist [1] who has competed at the international level since 2012.

Canoe slalom is a competitive sport with the aim to navigate a decked canoe or kayak through a course of hanging downstream or upstream gates on river rapids in the fastest time possible. It is one of the two kayak and canoeing disciplines at the Summer Olympics, and is referred to by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as Canoe/Kayak Slalom. The other Olympic canoeing discipline is canoe sprint. Wildwater canoeing is a non-Olympic paddlesport.

Gibson's best individual results include a silver in race 1 of the 2014 Canoe Slalom World Cup at Lee Valley White Water Centre, 4th place at the 2017 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships and 4th place at the 2016 European Canoe Slalom Championships. [2]

The 2014 Canoe Slalom World Cup was a series of five races in 5 canoeing and kayaking categories organized by the International Canoe Federation (ICF). It was the 27th edition.

Lee Valley White Water Centre sports venue

Lee Valley White Water Centre is a white-water slalom centre, that was constructed to host the canoe slalom events of the London 2012 Olympic Games. On 9 December 2010, Anne, Princess Royal officially opened the venue which is owned and managed by Lee Valley Regional Park Authority. The £31 million project to construct the centre finished on schedule and was the first newly constructed Olympic venue to be completed.

The 2017 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships was the 38th edition of the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships. The event took place from 22 September to 1 October 2017 in Pau, France under the auspices of International Canoe Federation (ICF) at the Pau-Pyrénées Whitewater Stadium. Pau was also hosting the Wildwater canoeing world championships as part of the same event.

She won a gold medal in the C1 team event at the 2017 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships in Pau. [3] She also won two golds and a bronze in the same event at the European Championships. [4]

International Canoe Federation international canoeing governing body

The International Canoe Federation (ICF) is the umbrella organization of all national canoe organizations worldwide. It is headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, and administers all aspects of canoe sport worldwide. 157 countries are affiliated with the ICF after seven national federations were added at the 2008 ICF Congress in Rome.
