Santa Coloma de Farners is a spa town and capital of the comarca of the Selva, in Catalonia, Spain, and of the judicial district of Santa Coloma. It is situated on the edge of the Selva Depression and of the Guilleries. The local economy is mainly commercial, given the status of the town as capital of the comarca, although summer tourism, agriculture and forestry products also contribute. The urban centre is to the north and west of the main modern communication routes, although the C-253 road links the town with the main N-II route and the AP-7 autopista and to the RENFE railway station at Sils (10 km). The GE-533 runs through the northern part of the municipality, linking it with Vic to the west and with Riudellots de la Selva, Vilobí d'Onyar and Girona-Costa Brava Airport to the east.

The Susqueda reservoir is on the municipal territory, and the associated hydroelectric power station is an important source of local income. Catalan Transversal Range

The Catalan Transversal Range is a system of minor mountain ranges at the eastern end of the Pre-Pyrenees, between the Osona and Garrotxa comarques. The existence of the Catalan Transversal Range has made communications in the northern areas of Catalonia difficult in the past, especially between Northeastern Catalonia and Western Catalonia, a problem that has been partly solved with the development of the Eix Transversal.

Guilleries

The Guilleries Massif is a mountain system located at the apex of the Catalan Transversal Range and the Pre-Coastal Range. The highest point of the range is Sant Miquel de Solterra or Sant Miquel de les Formigues, other main peaks are Turó del Faig Verd, Rocallarga, Sant Benet, El Far, Sant Gregori, Montdois, L'Agullola and Turó del Castell

LAgullola

L'Agullola is a mountain of the Guilleries Massif, Catalonia, Spain. It has an elevation of 921.9 metres above sea level. The plateau known as Pla de Fàbregues lies NW of the summit. L'Agullola Grossa is a sharp rocky outcrop rising just SE of the cliff wall.

Turó del Castell (Tavertet)

Turó del Castell is a mountain of the Guilleries Massif, Catalonia, Spain. It has an elevation of 851.1 metres above sea level. The Susqueda reservoir lies off the southern slopes of the mountain. The high plateau lying ENE of the mountain is known as Pla del Castell. A rocky outcrop known as Puig de la Força rises WSW of the summit.

La Cellera de Ter, also locally known simply as La Cellera, is a village in the county of La Selva, province of Girona and autonomous community of Catalonia, Spain. More than half of the area is mountainous and is part of the eastern ridge of the Guilleries massif. The municipality covers an area of 14.6 square kilometres (5.6 sq mi) and the population in 2014 was 2,071 and, in 2020, 1.950. The population density is 133,56 hab/km².
