Elaphrus finitimus is a species of ground beetle in the subfamily Elaphrinae. [1] It was described by Casey in 1920. [1]
Albert Vincent Casey was a United States Postmaster General, publisher of Los Angeles Times, and an attendee of the Bohemian Grove. He received two degrees from Harvard University in 1948.
Joseph Edward Casey was a United States representative from Massachusetts. Born in Clinton, he attended the public schools, served as a private in the United States Army at Fort Lee, Virginia, in 1918, and graduated from the Boston University School of Law in 1920. He was admitted to the bar that year and commenced practice in Clinton. He was a delegate to the Democratic National Conventions in 1924, 1932, 1936, 1940, and 1944, and was elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-fourth and to the three succeeding Congresses. He was not a candidate for renomination in 1942 to the Seventy-eighth Congress and was an unsuccessful candidate for election to the United States Senate. He resumed the practice of law in Boston and in Washington, D.C., where he resided until his death. Interment was in Arlington National Cemetery, Section 1, Lot 761-B.
Elaphrus viridis, the Delta green ground beetle, is a species of ground beetle restricted to a small region within Solano County, California. Its color is a metallic-green, usually with bronze spots on its elytra, though some lack these spots. The lack or reduction of circular pits on the elytra helps distinguish it from other ground beetles. Typical adults are about a quarter-inch (0.6 cm) in length.

Edward Lawrence Casey was an American football player and coach. He played college football at Harvard University and was inducted to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1968. Casey was MVP of the 1920 Rose Bowl Game in which Harvard defeated Oregon 7-6. In recognition of his Rose Bowl accomplishments, Casey was inducted into the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame in 2019. Casey also played professional football in 1920 for the Buffalo All-Americans; he was also the head coach of the Boston Redskins of the National Football League (NFL) in 1935 and the Boston Bears of the third American Football League (AFL) in 1940.
