Elizabeth Susan Koshy, (born May 10, 1994) [2] is an Indian shooter from Kerala.

Career

Koshy made her international debut at the Junior meet in Germany in 2011 in which the Indian team was in sixth place. Koshy won five gold medals in Thiruvananthapuram at the State championship in the same year. [3] She won silver in the Asian Shooting Championships and represented India in the 2013 and 2014 World Cups. Koshy took part in the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games. Koshy won gold in the 2015 National Games women's 50m Rifle Prone event, the first for Kerala. [4] [5] [6] She was coached by Haryana-based Satguru Dass from the navy. From Kochi, she was inspired to take up the sport on seeing a pre-National shooting championship during her childhood; she said that her grandfather was a hunter. She has taken part in prone, three-position and air rifle events but prefers three-position. [3]

Abhinav Apjit Bindra is an Indian Olympic gold medallist, retired sport shooter, and businessman. He is the first and one of only two Indians to win an Individual Olympic Gold Medal. He is the first Indian to have held concurrently the world and Olympic titles for the men's 10-meter air rifle event, having earned those honors at the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2006 ISSF World Shooting Championships. Bindra has also won seven medals at the Commonwealth Games and three medals at the Asian Games.

Sally Johnston is a competitive sport shooter from New Zealand. She started shooting in 1983 with her first international competition in 1995 at the Oceania Championships in Auckland. Johnston placed eighth in the 50m rifle three positions and ninth in the 10m air rifle. In 1997 she beat her personal bests in all three events at the Oceania Championships in Adelaide where she placed fourth in the 50m rifle prone, tenth in the 10m air rifle and eleventh in 50m rifle three positions event.

She is the first woman to win a gold medal in shooting at the Asian Games for India – she won the gold at the 2018 Jakarta Palembang Asian Games in the women's 25 metre pistol event. She won two gold medals in 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, the first of the two golds in coming in the 25 metre pistol pair event with Anisa Sayyed. Suma Shirur is a former Indian shooter who competed in the 10 metre air rifle event. She is a joint world record holder in the event, having scored the maximum of 400 points in the qualification round, which she achieved at the 2004 Asian Shooting Championships in Kuala Lumpur. In 2003, she was awarded the Arjuna Award by the government of India. She is currently the High Performance Coach of the Indian Jr. Rifle Shooting Team. In 2019 she became Britain's most successful female rifle shooter of all time, winning five World Cup medals. She also became the first British Woman to rank World #1 for the 50m Rifle Three Position event and became European Champion in the 300m Rifle Prone event with an equal World Record score.

Mehuli Ghosh is an Indian sport shooter, supported by OGQ. She represents India at international junior shooting championships across the world. Among 123 competitors, she was the only Indian shooting athlete to reach the finals of the 2018 junior shooting competition held in the Czech Republic. She ranked seventh there. In 2018, at the XXI Commonwealth Games held at Gold Coast, Australia, she won a silver medal in Women's 10m Air Rifle after a shoot-off with Martina Veloso. As of September 2023, she was ranked 36th in the world and 14th in Asia.

Sidhartha Babu is an Indian self-taught, international rifle shooter from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. He is currently based in Bengaluru, India. He has qualified for shooting at the 2024 Paris Paramlympics through the 2022 Asian Para Games conducted in Hangzhou, China with a record-breaking performance. Also, he had represented India in the 2020 Tokyo Paramlympics for Mixed 50m rifle prone SH1 through the performance in Para World Shooting Championship held in Sydney, Australia.
