Stanford University Medical Center is a medical complex which includes Stanford Health Care and Stanford Children's Health. It is consistently ranked as one of the best hospitals in the United States and serves as a teaching hospital for the Stanford University School of Medicine. In 2020–21, it was ranked by the US News as the 4th-best hospital in California and 13th-best in the country.

DGMC is named in honor of Dr. David Norvell Walker Grant, USAAF, MC (1891-1964), the first Surgeon General of the U.S. Army Air Corps and U.S. Army Air Forces.

The hospital was formerly home to MU Children's Hospital, and is currently home to MU Women's Center, and the Family Birth Center. The Women's Hospital no longer has a pediatric Emergency Room and inpatient services, having moved to University Hospital. In Fiscal Year 2009, 1,793 babies were born in the Family Birth Center. The hospital offers the da Vinci minimally invasive surgical robotic system. It is located in eastern Columbia near the interchange of Interstate 70 and U.S. 63.

The Museum's galleries are free and open to the public. The galleries are open from 9 am to 4 pm Tuesday-Friday and noon to 4 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. The galleries are closed on Mondays and University holidays. The Museum of Art and Archaeology receives support from the Missouri Arts Council.
