The Royal Thai Embassy in New Delhi is the diplomatic mission of Thailand to India, the ambassador being Pattarat Hongtong. [1] [2]
The embassy serves the Northern, Western, Central, Eastern and North-Eastern regions of India; it also includes Bhutan in its jurisdiction. Thailand also has a Consulate General in Chennai that serves the region of South India and is affiliated with the embassy.[ citation needed ]
After establishing diplomatic relations between the countries on 1 August 1947, they each built consulates initially in corresponding capitals, and upgraded to post on 3 October 1951. Initial building was leased in Aurangzeb Road, later shifting it to present location. [3] The ambassador's residence was constructed in 1955.[ citation needed ]
The first ambassador to India was Thanat Khoman. Present ambassador is Ms. Patrat Hongthong. [4]

The foreign relations of Thailand are handled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.
India and Romania maintain international relations.
Denmark–Thailand relations date back to 1621. Denmark operates an embassy in Bangkok, along with a consulate in Phuket, although it used to have one in Pattaya. The Danish embassy in Bangkok also handles Danish relations with Cambodia, with the current Danish ambassador of Thailand also being the ambassador to Cambodia. Thailand itself operates an embassy in Copenhagen.
Visitors to Thailand must obtain a visa from one of the Thai diplomatic missions unless they are citizens of one of the visa-exempt countries, or citizens who may obtain a visa on arrival, or citizens eligible for an e-Visa.
The Thai Embassy in Washington, D.C. is the diplomatic mission of the Kingdom of Thailand to the United States. The embassy is located at 1024 Wisconsin Avenue, Northwest, Washington, D.C. in the Georgetown neighborhood.
The Royal Thai Embassy in London is the diplomatic mission of Thailand in the United Kingdom, located at Queen's Gate. The embassy is also accredited to Ireland on a non-resident basis. The building is one of a group of Grade II listed buildings in Queen's Gate, which includes the High Commission of Bangladesh next door.

Suriya Chindawongse is a Thai diplomat and the current Thai Ambassador to the United States, serving since June 2024. Suriya previously served as the Thai Ambassador to the United Nations from 2021 to 2024 and the Thai Ambassador to Singapore from 2020 to 2021.
