Emma Plasschaert (born 1 November 1993) is a Belgian sailor. She is a two-time World Champion in the Laser Radial class (2018 and 2021). She ended fourth in that class at the 2020 Summer Olympics. [1] [2]
Plasschaert is born in Ostend, the largest city at the Belgian coast. She started her career in the small Optimist class, and after five years switched to the Europe class. She then switched to the Laser Radial class in 2010, and became part of the team around Evi Van Acker, who would win the bronze medal the 2012 Olympics. Plasschaert got her first top ten finishes at the World Championships in 2013 and 2014.
In August 2018 she became world champion in the Laser Radial class, beating 2016 Olympic gold medalist Marit Bouwmeester. [3] Three years later she won a second world title. In 2023 she married Australian sailer Matthew Wearn.
Anna Tunnicliffe Tobias is an American sailor and CrossFit competitor. In 2008 she won an Olympic gold medal in the Laser Radial single handed sailing class. In 2009 and 2011, she won the ISAF Sailing World Cup in Laser Radial. She also won the women's world championship of the snipe class in 2010, and placed second in 2008.
Paige Railey is an American sailor who races in the Laser Radial division. She has been a member of U.S. Sailing Team since 2005 and is also a member of the Harken and McLube Speedteam. She was awarded in 2006 the ISAF World Sailor of the Year Award and the U.S. Sailing's Rolex Yachtswoman of the Year.
William Ryan is an Australian sailor and an Olympic champion and five time World champion in the men's 470 event with Mathew Belcher.

In 2008 and 2009 she was chosen Curaçao's Youth Sports Women of the year. After the National Olympic Committee of the Netherlands Antilles lost its recognition by the International Olympic Committee following the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles in 2010, van Aanholt was allowed to participate in the 2012 Summer Olympics as an Independent Olympic Athlete. In 2016, she represented neighboring island Aruba at the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. She was Aruba's flag bearer at the opening ceremony of the 2015 Pan American Games. In 2023, she won silver in the Sunfish class at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile.
Annalise Murphy is an Irish sailor who won a silver medal in the 2016 Summer Olympics. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo 2021, in Laser Radial.
Alison Young is a British sailor. She competed in the Laser Radial class event at the 2012 Summer Olympics where she placed 5th.
Anne-Marie Rindom is a Danish sailor. She competed in the Laser Radial class event at the 2012 Summer Olympics, where she placed 13th. She won the 2015 Women's Laser Radial World Championship. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, she won the bronze medal in the Laser Radial event. She won gold at the 2020 Summer Olympics, in Laser Radial.

Sailing competitions at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo took place from 25 July to 4 August 2021 at the Enoshima Yacht Harbor in Enoshima. The venue was also used for the 1964 Olympic Games although significantly regenerated, the IOC now encouraging regeneration, cost reductions and sustainability. The RS:X, Laser, Laser Radial, Finn, 470, 49er, 49erFX, and Nacra17 are all returning for 2020; there are no significant changes to the Olympic programme from 2016.
