The Entrevues Belfort Film Festival is an annual international film festival, founded in 1986 by Janine Bazin and held in Belfort, France. Through its First Films International Competition (from 1st to 3rd film), the festival is dedicated to support emerging filmmakers. Alongside of the International Competition, the festival focuses on rediscovering filmmakers from the cinematic heritage with retrospectives, tributes and encounters. [1] It also offers a Post-production Grant for first international features films. [2]
Since 1986, the festival has been successively directed by Janine Bazin (1986-2000), Bernard Benoliel (2001-2004), Catherine Bizern (2005-2012) and Lili Hinstin (since 2013). [3] Many first films of now renowned young directors were selected by EntreVues Belfort, such as:

Since 1986, retrospectives have been dedicated to international directors such as: Michelangelo Antonioni, David Cronenberg, Michael Cimino, Jerzy Skolimowski, Barbet Schroeder, Paul Schrader, Miloš Forman, Marco Bellocchio, Paul Verhoeven, Abel Ferrara, Jean-Claude Brisseau, Jean-Pierre Mocky, John Carpenter, [5] Jacques Doillon, [6] Kiyoshi Kurosawa, Otar Iosseliani or Bong Joon-ho. [7]

In 2015, the festival has celebrated its 30th edition. [8]

Leviathan is a 2012 American documentary directed by Lucien Castaing-Taylor and Véréna Paravel of the Sensory Ethnography Lab at Harvard University. It is a work about the North American fishing industry. The film was acquired for U.S. distribution by The Cinema Guild. The film-makers used GoPro cameras and worked twenty-hour shifts during the shooting of the film.

Janine Bazin was a French film and television producer of the French New Wave movement. Alongside André S. Labarthe, she was the co-producer of an hour-long series of programmes called Cineastes de Notre Temps, which was broadcast from 1964 to 1974. From 1980, Bazin was co-producer of the series Cinema De Notre Temps and established the Entrevues Belfort Film Festival. The Janine Bazin Award for Best Performance was named after her.

De Humani Corporis Fabrica is a French-Swiss documentary film, directed by Lucien Castaing-Taylor and Véréna Paravel and released in 2022. Named after De Humani Corporis Fabrica Libri Septem, a 16th-century book series that was one of the most influential advances in the study of human anatomy, the film explores the human body through depictions of surgeries and autopsies in multiple hospitals around Paris, including intimate close-up footage from inside human bodies.
