Enzo Agustín Martínez Beltrán (born September 29, 1990) is a Uruguayan footballer who plays for Birmingham Legion in the USL Championship.
Martínez grew up in Rock Hill, South Carolina where he starred for Discoveries Soccer Club and Northwestern High School, winning a national championship at both levels. [1] ESPN later named Martínez as the ESPN Rise High School Boys' Soccer Player of the Decade after finishing his career with three state championships, one FAB 50 national title and 182 goals. [2]
He then played for the North Carolina Tar Heels, appearing in 72 matches and scoring 22 goals.
On January 12, 2012, Martínez was selected 17th overall by Real Salt Lake in the first round of the 2012 MLS SuperDraft. [3]
After not seeing any playing time in 2012, Martínez was sent on a short-term loan to NASL club Carolina RailHawks on April 30, 2013. [4] Four days later, he made his debut for the RailHawks and netted the equalizing goal in the club's 2-2 draw on the road at Minnesota United FC.
Martínez was not retained by Real Salt Lake after the season and rejoined Carolina on a permanent basis. [5]
Martínez signed with Charlotte Independence of the United Soccer League in March 2015. [6]
On February 19, 2018, Martínez returned to MLS when he signed with Colorado Rapids. The Rapids sent a fourth-round pick in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft to acquire his rights from Real Salt Lake. [7] Martínez was released by Colorado at the end of their 2018 season. [8]
Martínez moved to USL Championship side Birmingham Legion on January 7, 2022. [9]

The 2021 Real Salt Lake season was the team's 17th year of existence, and their 17th consecutive season in Major League Soccer, the top division of the American soccer pyramid. RSL entered the 2021 season looking to rebound from a tumultuous 2020 season, having finished near the bottom of the table and endured the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic continued to have a significant impact on MLS in 2021, causing the season's start to be delayed to mid-April instead of the traditional first weekend in March, a reworked schedule that focused heavily on intra-conference play to reduce travel, and stadiums at reduced capacity. The state of Utah allowed RSL to open the season with Rio Tinto Stadium at 50% capacity. The 2021 Major League Soccer season began on April 16, 2021, though RSL did not begin their season until the following week, April 24, having had a bye in the opening weekend due to the odd number of teams in MLS in 2021.
