Eric Dooley (born July 14, 1965) is an American college football coach and former player. He is the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Grambling State University, positions he has held since 2024. [1] He was the head football coach at Southern University from 2022 to 2023. Dooley served as the head football coach at Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, Texas from 2018 to 2021. [2]
A former Grambling State University player, Dooley also spent one season in the Arena Football League with the Arizona Rattlers in 1993. [3]

The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) is a collegiate athletic conference headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, which is made up of historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in the Southern United States. It participates in the NCAA's Division I for most sports; in football, it participates in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), formerly referred to as Division I-AA.
Willie "Satellite" Totten is an American football coach and former player. He is the quarterbacks coach at Southern University.
Leonard "Bubba" McDowell is an American football coach and former player. He played professionally as a safety for seven seasons in the National Football League (NFL) with the Houston Oilers and Carolina Panthers. McDowell played college football at the University of Miami. He was drafted by the Oilers in the third round of the 1989 NFL draft.

Hensley W. Sapenter is a former American football coach and athletics administrator. He served as the head football coach at Prairie View A&M University from 1995 to 1996, compiling a record of 0–22. Sapenter was inducted into the Texas Black Sports Hall of Fame in 2003.
William James Nicks was an American college football player and coach. He coached at historically black colleges in the Southern United States from 1930 to 1965. Nicks served as the head football coach at Morris Brown College in Georgia and at Prairie View A&M University in Texas. He was the NAIA Football Coach of the Year in 1963 and his teams were declared the black college football national champions six times. Nicks was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as a coach in 1999.
The 2000 Grambling State Tigers football team represented Grambling State University as a member of the West Division of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) during the 2000 NCAA Division I-AA football season. Led by third-year head coach Doug Williams, the Tigers compiled an overall record of 10–2 with a mark of 6–1 in conference play, winning the SWAC West Division title. Grambling State beat Alabama A&M in the SWAC Championship Game to the conference title. The team was also recognized as a black college football national champion. The Tigers offense scored 300 points while the defense allowed 207 points on the season. Grambling State played home games at Eddie G. Robinson Memorial Stadium in Grambling, Louisiana.
The Prairie View A&M Panthers football team is the college football team representing the Prairie View A&M University. The Panthers play in NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) as a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC).
The State Fair Classic is an annual college football game between the Grambling State University Tigers and the Prairie View A&M University Panthers of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). The game is played on a neutral site at the Cotton Bowl in Fair Park, Dallas, Texas during the State Fair of Texas. The game often occurs the weekend before the Red River Showdown game; the Heart of Dallas Classic took place on the first weekend of the 2013 fair, and the State Fair Football Showdown took place on the third weekends of the 2018 and 2019 fairs, featuring SWAC competitors Southern and Texas Southern.
Heishma Northern is an American former college football coach. He was the head football coach for Prairie View A&M University from 2011 to 2014. He also coached for Glen Oaks High School, Morehouse, Grambling State, and Texas Southern.
Willie Román Simmons is an American college football coach and former quarterback. He is the running backs coach at Duke University. He was the head football coach at Florida A&M from 2018 to 2023 and Prairie View A&M from 2014 to 2017. He has also served as offensive coordinator of the Alcorn State Braves as well as the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders football teams. Simmons played college football at Clemson and The Citadel as a quarterback.
The 2017–18 Texas Southern Tigers basketball team represented Texas Southern University during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Tigers, led by sixth-year head coach Mike Davis, played their home games at the Health and Physical Education Arena in Houston, Texas as members of the Southwestern Athletic Conference. They finished the season 16–20, 12–6 in SWAC play to finish in a three-way tie for second place. Due to Grambling State's Academic Progress Rate violations and subsequent postseason ineligibility, they received the No. 3 seed in the SWAC tournament where they defeated Alabama State, Prairie View A&M and Arkansas–Pine Bluff to become SWAC Tournament champions. They received the SWAC's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament where they defeated North Carolina Central in the First Four before losing in the first round to Xavier.
Tederal Duralle White is an American football coach and former quarterback. Before coaching, White played for the Frankfurt Galaxy and Barcelona Dragons as part of NFL Europe in the early 2000s. From 2003 to 2005, White was the backup quarterback for the Montreal Alouettes in the Canadian Football League. With both leagues, White had a combined total of 2,568 passing yards, 20 touchdowns and 19 interceptions.

The 1964 Prairie View A&M Panthers football team was an American football team that represented Prairie View A&M University in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) during the 1964 NCAA College Division football season. In their 16th season under head coach Billy Nicks, the Panthers compiled a perfect 9–0 record, won the SWAC championship, and outscored opponents by a total of 303 to 110.
The 1967 Grambling Tigers football team represented Grambling College as a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) during the 1967 NCAA College Division football season. In its 25th season under head coach Eddie Robinson, Grambling compiled a 9–1 record, won the SWAC championship, defeated Florida A&M in the Orange Blossom Classic, and outscored opponents by a total of 318 to 145. The team is recognized as the black college football national co-champion for 1967.
The 1975 Grambling Tigers football team represented Grambling State University as a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) during the 1975 NCAA Division II football season. In its 33rd season under head coach Eddie Robinson, Grambling compiled a 10–2 record, initially tied for the SWAC championship, and outscored opponents by a total of 324 to 153 on the field. The team was recognized as the 1975 black college football national co-champion and was ranked No. 4 by the Associated Press and No. 2 by the United Press International in the final 1975 NCAA Division II football rankings.
The 2019 SWAC women's soccer tournament was the postseason women's soccer tournament for the Southwestern Athletic Conference held November 7–10, 2019. The seven-match tournament took place at the Prairie View A&M Soccer Stadium in Prairie View, Texas. The eight-team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The defending champions were the Howard Bison, however they were unable to defend their title, losing 1–0 to the Prairie View A&M Panthers in the final. The conference tournament title was the first in the history of the Paririe View A&M women's soccer program, and the first for head coach Sonia Curvelo.
Terrence C. Graves is an American college football coach. He is the head football coach for Southern University; a position he has held since 2023. He was the interim head football coach for Grambling State University in 2021. He also coached for Winston-Salem State, Norfolk State, and Mississippi Valley State. He played college football for Wake Forest and Winston-Salem State as a defensive back.
Jason Rollins is an American college football coach. He is the defensive coordinator for Grambling State University, a position he has held since 2024. He was the interim head football coach for Southern University in 2021 and compiled a 4–7 record. He coached for McNeese State, Ball High School, La Marque High School, Northwestern State, Tulane, UTSA, and Louisiana–Monroe. He played college football for McNeese State as a safety.
