Eric "Hövdingen" Persson (19 April 1898 –9 June 1984) was chairman of the Swedish football club MalmöFF between 1937 and 1974. He is commonly regarded as one of the most prominent figures in Swedish football history. [1]
Persson was chairman of the club for 37 years between 1937 and 1974. [2] He earned his nickname Hövdingen—"the chief"—because of the success the club enjoyed while under his leadership. MalmöFF won 10 Swedish Championships out of their total 18 during Perssons era as chairman.
Persson became a member of MalmöFF in 1925. In 1929,he was elected a member of the board and 8 years later in 1937,he was elected chairman of the club,a position he would hold on to until 1974. In 1944,Persson led MalmöFF to the first Swedish championship in the history of the club.
He would lead the club to another 9 victories in Allsvenskan as well as 8 Swedish Cup titles. At the yearly members meeting in 1974,he announced that he would be stepping down as chairman after the season,his successor would be Hans Cavalli-Björkman. Four years later in 1979,MalmöFF reached the final of the European Cup (The predecessor to UEFA Champions League). The club lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest but the final is still regarded as the brightest moment of the club's history,Something which some argue would have been impossible if it hadn't been for Persson. When he was elected chairman in 1937,the club was playing in the second division in Sweden,when he left the club in the late 1970s the club was the dominating club in Swedish football and a consistent competitor in Europe.
Today,Persson is regarded as the most important person in MalmöFF's history.
During World War II,Persson was a part of organisations that helped Jewish people escape the Nazi occupation of Denmark. As a result,he was awarded the Order of the Elephant,the highest order in Denmark.[ citation needed ]
In 1958,Persson part of the committee who selected the Swedish national football team for the FIFA World Cup which took place in Sweden that year.[ citation needed ]
Persson was also a supporter and member of the Swedish Social Democratic Party. He was a close friend of Swedish prime ministers Olof Palme and Per-Albin Hansson.[ citation needed ]
Åge Fridtjof Hareide is a Norwegian football coach and former player who manages the Iceland national team. In his playing career,he played for Hødd and Molde in Norway as well as Manchester City and Norwich City in England. Hareide was capped 50 times playing for Norway.

Andersson played the majority of his career for MalmöFF in two different periods where he also served as team captain between 2006 and 2011,he also had a successful period playing for Serie A club Bari. He also had a long international playing career,playing 74 matches for Sweden. Daniel is part of a prosperous football family as both his father Roy Andersson and brother Patrik Andersson had successful football careers.
Bo-Göran "Bosse" Larsson was a Swedish professional footballer who played as a midfielder and striker. Best remembered for his time with MalmöFF,he also represented VfB Stuttgart and Trelleborgs FF during his career. A full international between 1964 and 1978,he won 70 caps for the Sweden national team and scored 17 goals. He also represented Sweden at the 1970,1974 and 1978 FIFA World Cups.
Joseph Elanga Fils is a Cameroonian former professional footballer who played as a defender. Starting off his career in Cameroon in the late 1990s,he went on to play professionally in Greece,Sweden,and Denmark before retiring in 2012. A full international between 1998 and 2002,he won 17 caps for the Cameroon national team and represented his country at the 1998 FIFA World Cup.

Madsen is most renowned for leading the club from their first relegation in 65 years in 1999 to their first Swedish championship in 16 years in 2004. He also had a prominent role in MalmöFF moving from MalmöStadion to Stadion. Madsen is also famous for being a controversial figure in the sport such as an incident in 2002 when Madsen verbally criticized referee Anders Frisk in half-time in an Allsvenskan match between MalmöFF and Hammarby IF.
Hans Cavalli-Björkman was a Swedish lawyer and former chairman of the Swedish Association football club MalmöFF,a post he held between 1975 and 1998. During Cavalli-Björkman's years at the club they won four Swedish championships as well as six Svenska Cupen titles. His predecessor was Eric Persson. Besides being chairman at MalmöFF,he was also CEO of Swedish bank SEB in the late 1980s.

Carl "Ceve" Linde was a Swedish football player,manager,administrator and pioneer. He was also involved in Swedish sports in general,and was a prominent sports journalist. He played for IFK Uddevalla and IFK Göteborg during his short playing career. Linde was more successful as a sports manager and administrator,both for IFK Göteborg and the national team. He played a big part in various roles for the national team and the Swedish Football Association,for which he was inducted into the Swedish Football Hall of Fame.
