Richard John Carey is an American former competition swimmer, three-time Olympic champion, and former world record-holder in three events. Carey specialized in the backstroke. At the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, he won three gold medals. He broke nine world records, five individually, and also was a double world champion. He was named as the Swimmer of the Year in 1983 by Swimming World magazine.
Sylvia Úrsula Poll Ahrens is an Olympic medalist and a national record holding swimmer from Costa Rica. At the 1988 Olympics, she won Costa Rica's first Olympic medal, when she garnered the silver in the women's 200 free. As of 2009, she and her younger sister Claudia are Costa Rica's only Olympic medalists. Sylvia also swam for Costa Rica at the 1992 Summer Olympics.

She is a graduate of swimming powerhouse The Bolles School. She retired from competitive swimming in 2018.

She also represented her birth nation Estonia at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China.
Daniele Tirabassi is a Venezuelan swimmer, who specialized in long-distance freestyle events. He represented his nation Venezuela at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and has also won a career total of five medals in a major international competition, spanning two editions of the South American Games and the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games. Tirabassi also holds multiple Venezuelan championship titles and national records in both the long-distance freestyle, and freestyle relay events.
