Espazo Ecosocialista Galego (EcoSoGal, Galician Eco-socialist Space), also known as Ecogaleguistas, is a Galician political party which was formed on 26 May 2012 after a process of confluence of Galician left-wing militants mostly from various social movements and the Galician Nationalist Bloc (BNG). [2] Ideologically they define themselves as eco-socialists. Their leader is Xoán Hermida González, former coordinator of the Left of Galicia party in the Parliament of Galicia.
Its origin is in the Ben Común initiative, which brought together people of Galician nationalist left, and people inspired by the demands of the 15-M. Ecogaleguistas maintains close relations with Initiative for Catalonia Greens, Alternatiba, Iniciativa del Poble Valencià and IniciativaVerds.
Between May and September 2012 the party was one of the founding formations of Compromiso por Galicia (CxG), but after failing to reach an agreement and coalition between CxG [3] and Anova-Nationalist Brotherhood, Espazo Ecosocialista decided to leave CxG and integrated in the Galician Left Alternative coalition, created by Anova-Nationalist Brotherhood, United Left and Equo. The Galician Nationalist Bloc is a political party from Galicia, formed with the merger of a series of left-wing Galician nationalist parties. It is self-defined as a "patriotic front".
Initiative for Catalonia Greens was an eco-socialist political party in Catalonia. It was formed as a merger of Iniciativa per Catalunya and Els Verds. IC had been an alliance led by Partit Socialista Unificat de Catalunya and was the equivalent of Izquierda Unida in Catalonia. IC later developed into a political party, and PSUC was dissolved. The youth of ICV was called Joves d'Esquerra Verda. It used to be called JambI, Joves amb Iniciativa.

Galicia en Común was a left-wing alliance in Galicia formed by Podemos and United Left (EU) as a successor to the En Marea alliance, which after turning into a party broke up from their three constituent parties in early 2019 as a result of political and leadership differences. The alliance has contested the April 2019 and November 2019 Spanish general elections under the En Común–Unidas Podemos label, and it also exists as a sub-group within the Unidas Podemos confederal parliamentary group in the Congress of Deputies. In September 2019, Podemos and EU, together with Renewal–Nationalist Brotherhood, comprised the Grupo Común da Esquerda parliamentary group, and the alliance is scheduled to be renewed ahead of the 2020 Galician regional election.
