Essob Mmanoko Mokgonyana, sometimes misspelled Essop Mokgonyane, is a South African politician and trade unionist who has served as Chief Whip of the Majority Party in the Limpopo Provincial Legislature since 2019. He represents the African National Congress (ANC) in that capacity. He previously chaired the Limpopo branch of the Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU), an ANC ally, from 2012 to 2019.

Mokgonyana gained prominence as a regional leader of COSATU and the affiliated National Union of Mineworkers [1] [2] in Limpopo province. In May 2009, he was elected Provincial Deputy Chairperson of COSATU's Limpopo branch, deputising Provincial Chairperson Ronnie Moroatshehla. [3] At the union's next provincial elective conference in August 2012, he successfully challenged Moroatshehla in a vote and was elected COSATU Provincial Chairperson. At that time he was viewed as politically aligned to incumbent ANC President Jacob Zuma. [4] He was re-elected unopposed to a second term in July 2015 [5] and to a third term in July 2018. In the 2019 general election, Mokgonyana was elected to the Limpopo Provincial Legislature, ranked 17th on the ANC's provincial party list. [7] After the election, on 11 July 2019, the legislature appointed him to succeed Falaza Mdaka as Majority Chief Whip. [8] After his election to the legislative office, Mokgonyana vacated the COSATU chairmanship and he was succeeded in that capacity by Calvin Tshamano later in July. Molapi Soviet Lekganyane is a South African politician from Limpopo province. A member of the African National Congress (ANC), he was Member of the Limpopo Executive Council for Local Government and Housing from 2009 to 2012 under Premier Cassel Mathale. He served two terms as Provincial Secretary of the ANC in Limpopo, from 2011 to 2013 under Mathale and from 2018 to 2022 under Stan Mathabatha. He was formerly the Provincial Secretary of the South African Communist Party in Limpopo from 2008 to 2011 and in 2022 he was elected to a five-year term on the ANC's National Executive Committee.

Before that, he represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the Limpopo Provincial Legislature and Limpopo Executive Council.

Rodgers Basikopo Makamu is a South African politician who is currently serving as Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs in the Limpopo provincial government. He was formerly MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development between 2018 and 2019. A teacher by training and a member of the African National Congress (ANC), Makamu was elected to a second term as Deputy Provincial Secretary of the ANC's Limpopo branch in June 2022.

Seaparo Charles Sekoati, sometimes mispelled Seaparo Sekwati, is a South African politician who is currently serving in the Limpopo provincial government as Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Finance. He has been a Member of the Limpopo Provincial Legislature since 2004 and was previously MEC for Health and Social Development from 2004 to 2009 and, before his appointment to his current position, MEC for Economic Development, Environment and Tourism from 2013 to 2019. From 2013 to 2017, he was also Regional Chairperson of the Mopani branch of his political party, the African National Congress.

Falaza Philemon Mdaka is a South African politician who has represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the Limpopo Provincial Legislature since 2014. He was formerly the Executive Mayor of Vhembe District Municipality from 2007 to 2011 and served as Regional Chairperson of the ANC's Vhembe branch for two terms until 2012.

Matjie Lehlogonolo Alfred Masoga is a South African politician who represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the Limpopo Provincial Legislature from 2009 to 2019. He was Limpopo's Member of the Executive Council for Roads and Transport from July 2013 to May 2014 and he subsequently served as Deputy Speaker of the Limpopo Provincial Legislature from 2014 to 2019. He rose to prominence as the Provincial Chairperson of the Limpopo branch of the ANC Youth League, although he was expelled from the league in July 2010 after falling out with league president Julius Malema.

Leswafo Joshua Matlou is a South African politician who has represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the Limpopo Provincial Legislature since 2019. He was formerly the Mayor of Mopani District Municipality from 2009 until 2014, when the ANC asked him to resign. He also served as the chairperson of the ANC's influential Mopani branch from 2009 to 2013 and before that was the Provincial Chairperson of the ANC Youth League in Limpopo.

Simon Matsobane Mathe is a South African politician and trade unionist who has represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the Limpopo Provincial Legislature since 2019. He was formerly the General Secretary of the South African Municipal Workers' Union (SAMWU) from December 2015 until April 2019, when he and the union's other leaders were removed in a vote of no confidence.
