The Gambler is the sixth studio album by American singer Kenny Rogers, released by United Artists in November 1978. One of his most popular, it has established Rogers' status as one of the most successful artists of the 1970s and 1980s. The album reached many markets around the world, such as the Far East and Jamaica, with Rogers later commenting "When I go to Korea or Hong Kong people say 'Ah, the gambler!'". The album has sold over 5 million copies.
Heart Like a Wheel is the fifth solo studio album by Linda Ronstadt, released in November 1974. It was Ronstadt's last album to be released by Capitol Records. At the time of its recording, Ronstadt had already moved to Asylum Records and released her first album there; due to contractual obligations, though, Heart Like a Wheel was released by Capitol.
Mud on the Tires is the third studio album by American country music artist Brad Paisley. Released on July 22, 2003, through Arista Nashville, it produced four hit singles on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts: the Top Five hits "Celebrity", "Little Moments" and "Whiskey Lullaby", as well as the Number One title track. The album itself has been certified 2× Platinum by the RIAA, while "Whiskey Lullaby" and the title-track have been certified as gold singles.
Warm Thoughts is a 1980 album by Smokey Robinson. It features the top 40 hit, "Let Me Be the Clock". The album was arranged by Reginald "Sonny" Burke. This album also featured the semi-autobiographical tune "Wine, Women and Song", which proved to be the closest thing to a Miracles reunion that occurred in the 1980s, with Smokey doing a duet with his then-wife, former Miracle Claudette Robinson, and Miracle Marv Tarplin, with whom he shared songwriting credits, on guitar. The song "Travelin' Thru'" was written by Smokey's real-life sister, Rose Ella Jones, and two songs written by Robinson with fellow Motown artist, Stevie Wonder, and singer, songwriter, and former Starsky and Hutch star, David Soul. This album was a huge success, reaching the Top 20 of The Billboard 200 Pop Album chart, peaking at #14, and the Top 10 of Billboard's R&B Album Chart, peaking at #4.
Me and My Gang is the fourth studio album by the American country music group Rascal Flatts, released on April 4, 2006 by Lyric Street Records. The album became the highest US debut of 2006, with 721,747 units and went double platinum in the first month of release. The album spent three weeks at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. Have You Forgotten? is the first compilation album by American country music singer Darryl Worley. It was released on April 15, 2003 via DreamWorks Records Nashville. The album contains material from his first two albums, including four new songs, the title track, "I Will Hold My Ground", "I Need a Breather" and "Shiloh". The title track spent seven weeks at number one on the Hot Country Songs charts in 2003. Also released from this album were "Tennessee River Run" and "I Will Hold My Ground", the latter of which failed to make top 40. This album was certified gold by the RIAA. This CD is in HDCD format, providing improved audio quality on compatible players.
Brad Paisley Christmas is the first Christmas album and fifth studio album by American country music artist Brad Paisley. It was released on October 10, 2006, by Arista Nashville. His first album of Christmas music, features a mix of traditional Christmas songs and newly written songs. The track "Born on Christmas Day" was written by Paisley when he was thirteen years old, and the recording features elements from a recording Paisley made of the song in 1985. Also included is a cover of Buck Owens' "Santa Looked a Lot Like Daddy". Also included is "Kung Pao Buckaroo Holiday", a parody on political correctness.
